I've used both, but I've never tried the same flavor from both so I have no direct comparison as to taste.

They're both good. Lorann's is very concentrated. Capella's is not. Lorann's would comprise roughly 10-25% of your final mix, Capella's would be closer to 40-50%. Of course, I like my flavors strong and your mileage may vary.

Cost could also be a factor for you:

Lorann's is available in three sizes: 1 dram (roughly 3.7ml, around $1.10-$1.49 depending on source), 1oz (30ml, $5.50 for most flavors) and 4oz (120ml, $14.00 for most flavors)

Capella's runs $5.95 for 10ml.

Factor in the cost of the flavorings and the quantity you'll have to use of each, and it's going to cost significantly more to flavor with Capella's than with Lorann's.

What I'd recommend is picking some Lorann's dram sized. If you like it, get more. If you don't, try the Capella's. Pretty much, the Capella's I've bought were flavors that Lorann's doesn't carry.

As far as How Much you will Need or better put Want per X amount I think really depends on many factors, your personal tastes , the flavor in question ( some may need more than others to get the desired impression of that flavor/taste etc. For example Menthol to ME is a much stronger flavor than say vanilla )

I did run into a calculator in the DIY thread here that you might find usefull as a baseline or rough Guide however, and would suggest starting off with the smallest test batch you can (probably 1ml, which would need about 4 drops of flavoring) then adjust it a little if needed/wanted.

Once you find a mix you like, then go ahead an make 10ml or 30 ml or however much you want at that point.

Here is the link to the online calculator I bookmarked (Many thanks to its Creator who is unknown to me) Sorry I cant link directly to it (not enogh posts yet) just remove the space before the .COM below!

todmuller .com/ejuice/ejuice.php

* A quick tip on the page, Once you enter a Number just click the mouse into any other field and it will update the numbers below ( you will see what I mean if that wasnt perfectly clear once you try this :) )

I hope this is helpfull / usefull for you, I know that link is awesome for MY inner Mad Scientist!

Edit: From the link above you would need roughly 6ml of flavoring in a 30 ml batch. Then it depends on the strength of your Nic juice and the target level of the end product for the ammount of nic juice and pg/vg you'd use.

FYI the only capellas I ordered was from happy vapor, they come in a 13 ml size. The Lorans I ordered come in 3 ml sizes from where I ordered them from, but the actual loran site sells them in 1 dram, 1 ounce and 4 ounce sizes. For reference 1 oz - 29.5ml, 1 dram is 3.6 ml (which may be the size I am getting actually that is listed by resellers as 3ml)
