I have to get some of this. I haven't tried a Capella flavor I don't like yet. I especially love the French vanilla, both straight up as a single flavor or to give chocolates that little "something something".

Funny you should say that, as I've got some CAP French Vanilla that I haven't even tried yet.

Been using TFA French Vanilla, but I think it has a kind-of odd taste.

Can't seem to get a real Vanilla Ice Cream taste from anything yet.

Well I just started and I'm no expert by any means. :D I mixed CAP French Vanilla at 15% as a single flavor. It's pretty creamy tasting to me, but not overpoweringly sweet. If you use it successfully for Vanilla Ice Cream flavor, please post the recipe if you don't mind. I would love to make that. In the mean time, I think I'm gonna make a root beer float juice with it...

They will not be discontinuing the original Van Custard.

From another thread, Jonathan Tittle (I hope I spelled that right) had spoken with Cap and they are working on a line for vapers.......this one was to be the first released without the diketones present in the original ;)

Edit: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...iacetyl-there-really-many-2.html#post12438089 Here is one of several posts he has made regarding his discussions with Capella's

there is a version 2 of the french vanilla also. was talking to the dude over at bullcity and he told me about that one. was so excited over the VC V2 I didn't see the V2 of the french vanilla. so thats next on my list. I dont think anyone will be disappointed with the custard tho. a vape line from Capellas like Flavor Art would be awesome.

I noticed the release, though from looking at their website, it's only showing Diacetyl & Acetyl Proprionyl free, so I'm wondering if they are now using Acetoin as a replacement? When I spoke with Tom, he said that v2 would be free of all three chemicals, but I've not yet heard back from him. Hopefully he can clear that up for me as I was looking forward to testing it out :).

hahaha I bet it is in there. I noticed the same thing. and if you taste the V1 and the V2 on your finger something is there. and its very buttery. I have no idea and I bet it becomes a big thing soon but I'll keep buying this one just because I like it better. either way its the same taste just V2 is "cleaner" if that makes sense and I dont get the sick stomach feeling I had been getting with V1 . tasted great just with a shake and vape. crock potted some to, I'll try that tomorrow.

I got just some last week is the v2 clearly labelled as such, and I should assume my recent order is still original recipe?

where did you get it from ? all I know of is bullcity and it was clearly marked on the website and on the bottle. it was re bottled but I have no reason to doubt its V2. If you vape V1 its a very noticeable difference. not a bad difference tho. that certain "zing" isnt there anymore. the flavor is a match

Unless you specifically ordered v2 from Capellas (link) or you ordered from BCV, then it's most likely the original formula. The only size Capellas is offering right now is the 4oz bottle.

I did follow up with Tom last night and heard back from him shortly after, so hopefully he'll be sending over a few samples and providing more information about them as I asked if Acetoin was being used as a sub for the other two. If it's not, perhaps he can enlighten me as to what is being used.

Wasn't the whole point of even making a "V2" to create a VC that is free of chemicals that are known inhalation risks? So here's hoping he will tell you what's in it.

We realize that some vapers don't care, but we2 just wanna know what it's the chemical soups we're sucking into our lungs.

That's what I was originally told. I'll be on vacation with my wife for the next 3 days. Hopefully in that time Tom will get back with me so we can clear the air and he can confirm that all three are absent from the flavoring. That was one of the biggest things I was pushing for when he told me they were working on v2 of VC and others, so it'll be a bit disappointing if Acetoin is used as a substitute for the other two as I do enjoy the flavor, though their VC is heavy on the chemicals (IMO, heavier than TFA's).

cant wait to hear what you find out jonathan. after vaping on this since last night I can tell you that there is a big difference in the taste. the flavor is the same but that chemically part is gone. like I said earlier the heavy stomach thing is not there anymore. I am loving it. its still buttery but I dont know what it is. could be anything. I for one will be vaping this a lot, not because I dont care what I inhale, that was the point of picking up vaping but in fairness I also really have no idea what the other things are and if they are infact not safe to inhale or not and this one doesnt give me that sick feeling so whatever that chemical was its gone now. I love my flavor art flavors and that will be the majority of what I vape but this one is here to stay.

From what Tom said, they use Acetyl Proprionyl in VC v1. I don't get the stomach heaviness, though once VC steeps for 4-6 weeks, I can't vape it; the taste is as close to awful as it gets for me. Fresh, on the other hand, is perfect. I can't explain that one as normally I prefer slightly/moderately steeped e-liquids over fresh mixed since most of what I vape involves 5-10 flavors per mix.

If there's a night and day difference between the two, but still a buttery presence, the only other option would be acetoin that I'm aware of. Hopefully there's magic at work here and Capellas just put out a VC that doesn't have any of the 3 in there. Either way, I'll vape it for science :), at least once. If it doesn't turn in 4-6 weeks (or 8-12 hours of UC'ing / crock pot), then it may be a winner for me. If it steeps out like v1 though, I'll probably PIF the bottle to someone else.

I have about 12 4oz bottles of Capellas flavors on-hand right now and they're just sitting here lol.

Jonathan - I'm patiently awaiting your results re: Acetoin. If they somehow got by without it, I'm in!

Coming direct from Tom - "Yes they are free of Acetoin as well" - which applies to v2 of Vanilla Custard & v2 of French Vanilla. I don't have any reports to show that they are free of the chemicals, so I'm taking his word on it right now. That said, the whole initiative behind the v2 releases was to be completely free of these chemicals, so it'd be a lose to them if they were present. I am going to make a request to see if they can provide documentation, though for now, that's what I'm going on.

The following will also be coming soon in "v2" fashion:

Coconut
Fudge Brownie
Double Chocolate

...and as far as new flavors, which will also be marked free of these chemicals;

Passionfruit
Hibiscus
Juicy Orange
Grapefruit
Cantaloupe
Blue Raspberry Cotton Candy.
Crispy Bacon
