Useing a 12v-10amp cig lighter plugin wired to a AAA box useing a 37v input 5v-1amp output reg, push button switch to 510 batt end conector with 510 att, works great but reg gets very hot, falty reg? Where did I go wrong?
The tec sheet says a 7805 voltage reg is not 35v its 10v to 7.5v input,so that must be my problum. New problum, how am I going to get 12v down between 10v to 7.5v? Must need some kind of ristor and Im not fimiliar with ristors so this poses a new problum, HELP!
RS 273-1857 Car Power Adapter 4.5v 1000 ma wired into a RS 2 AAA batt box with center deviner cut out to center switch, ground to mad vapes 510 batt connector, power to a RS 275-1571 Submini Pushbutton Switch, to the pos of batt connector, great vape at 4.5v.
Change the inline buss fuse from the car outlet plug to a 2 0r even 1 amp inline buss fuss. Imo the regulator is regulating the voltage but it also has to regulate amperage thats a big job for a regulator that has no heat sink
hope this helps
if you have a resitor that is the same ohms as the atty they will split the voltage if they are wiered in series. isnt 6 volts enough ive got a cell phone charger for the car i want to make a passthrough with that its 4.5 volts. it says 500 ma i think it would pop the fuse now that i think of it oh well oh you allso have to know what power rating your resistor should have that would be voltage times current equals power (mesured in watts) to get your current its voltage devided by resistance
For laughs, In the old days when we converted a car from 6 to 12volts and still needed 6 volts for the radio etc. we put a screw in the third cell of the battery and ran the 6volt stuff off a wire to the screw.
