Care for passthrus?

I've had a couple passthrus and both of them have died, IMO prematurely. I got one from e-cigs.co.uk and and the other from bestecig. Both are good companies so I don't think it's an issue with them.

Are there guidelines as so how to increase the longevity of the passthrus? They both lasted only around a month with regular vaping.

If the passthroughs are automatic, periodically clean the threads and the center contact. Even if you use cartridges only, e-liquid can seep into the hole of the center contact of the device and gum up the switch. There is not much you can do to revivie a gummed up switch.

The only other major problem with PTs seems to be a wire break, often around the ash cap where the wire leaves the tube, but could be anywhere that there is a lot of flex in the wire.

In both cases, you can gut the PT and turn it into a straight, manual button device. It is a DIY project.
