I've been vaping for a few days and have yet to finish a cart...I think.

How do I tell if a cart is done/empty. I felt that one may have been empty last night because it didn't seem to satisfy my craving anymore, but I tried it this morning and it seems fine now.

I've read that you'll taste a burnt flavor. Is this the only way? I'm trying to avoid vaping on an empty cart and have nic cravings get out of control.

Are you talking about a cart aka cartridge - the push-on mouth part of a 3-piece ecig? Or carto aka cartomizer, the screw-on mouth part of a 2-piece ecig?

cart - stops making good vapor or vapor seems a bit dry, and if totally dry will eventually taste burnt and may burn out your atomizer from running it with no liquid

carto - stops making good vapor or vapor tastes a bit dry and tipping the ecig carto down for 5 seconds doesn't help (that's when I add liquid). If you keep vaping it long enough without adding liquid you will singe the carto and ruin it for refilling. Throw it out.

I haven't run a cartridge dry yet, but I can definitely say that a dry cartomizer will taste exactly like what a burning house smells like. (Probably not the best analogy, but the closest thing I can explain with...) Very nasty. Caught me off guard as I knew I was probably due for a refill, but the vapor was still good, then the next hit was the horrid burnt taste. No warning that I could tell of.

Took about a gallon of water to flush the taste out of my mouth!

Usually vapor production will start dropping off right before you get that "burnt" taste. Since you said it was fine this morning, it might be that you're "power vaping" and it isn't able to keep up with you. Does the carto start getting warm or even hot when you use it? I know mine will when I'm power vaping, then the vapor goes and then the taste might be off. If I set the PV down for a bit and let the juice rewick, then it's back to normal again.
