Carto Coil Wrap?

Can someone tell me what the material is that wraps around the coil of the cartomizer? Now that I am using my carto's with the filler removed, I think I can get a lot more life out of these things by replacing that wrap once it gets burnt. Just want to make sure I use the right stuff. Thanks.

Fluval water polishing pads from the pet store will work great. You can pull off "layers" from the pad and wrap them around like the original material. I have done this a few times myself. If you are referring to the tube like material, I think it is fiberglass sheathing. When I rebuild, I just leave the old one in. I have used it without it and as long as you keep your material very wet it doesn't seem to burn. Hope that helps,
