 Someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. So I don't know how many cartos I've trashed today but they all have a weird taste to them. It's not a burnt taste but its not a good taste. I've filled them with different flavors & I've even tried cartos purchased from separate vendors so I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong. Does anyone have any idea where I might be going wrong? I've been filling them using a toothpick to stop up the center & shaking the liquid down. I've been getting a little liquid drops through the bottom then I put them in the tank attach to my ecig & taking a couple of pulls without hitting the fire button. When I hit the fire button all I can say is no bueno! Help me!!

Sounds like they might be flooded. Do you see clear path to daylight when you look through, or something like a liquid film? If you see a film, it is flooded. Wipe off the connector and blow it out from this end onto a paper towel. Repeat until the film stays away. Wipe out your battery connector as well.

Either this or you just don't like your juice (anymore), or your sense of taste is temporarily out of wack. It happens.

Edit: oh yeah, I forgot this one. You also may just be averse to the taste of polyfill. In which case nothing you do will ever help. If so, stick to clearos and attys in the future.

Thanks Cloudz! I can see straight through so they're not flooded. Ive been using carto tanks for a lil while now. Just thought I might be doing something wrong or that I got a lil overly confident. Lol

What brand of carto? I always wash my new carto's out, never know what could get in them during manufacturing. Are they single coil or duel? It's not uncommon for duel coil low resistance carto's to burn juice. If your able to turn down voltage try that.

Thanks for the advice. They are boge single coil SR cartos. Ill try turning down the voltage. When you wash your cartos do you just run water through them & lay them out to dry? If so how long do you wait before using them?

On washing it depends. On new carto's, I boil them for 15min. Then run hot water through the drip tip side of the carto. Blow them out. Let them dry for 18-24 hrs. Punch then prime. Used carto's with a light colored juice, I just run hot water through them. Stopping every 2min or so to blow it out then repeat until I can't smell the juice. Dark juice is a whole long process. That stuff is hell on carto's but taste awesome:)

Not mean at all. That's what I thought too! I've done 2 so far today using the condom method until I have juice oozing out of the holes & still nothing. Thinking I might have a bad batch or something but I have no idea at this point. But I'll definetly try washing them out & see what happens as well.

I use xxl boge lr carto's. I use the big condom to fill. I fill the condom 3/4 of the way and I do this twice. I don't just jam the carto into the condom, I push it in till the juice comes to the top of the center tube and let it sit. Come back say three minutes? and you can see the level in the carto has dropped below the bottom of the carto from wicking. On second filling when it won't wick any more, shove it in till the juice floods the carto to the top and let it sit. Come back and blow it out(I blow it back in bottle cause I'm cheap:) ) should be ready, hope this helps.

Chimney .. sometimes, I'll get cartos that are just slow to absorb .. here is what I do

1) Insert round toothpick in threaded end
2) Stick the toothpick in a styrofoam block or anything that will hold it upright
3) Slowly drip drop into the open end
4) Stop when at the rim
5) Walk away .. come back in an hour or so
6) Drip drop till topped off again
7) Do this until at least 25-30 drops have been absorbed .. sometimes takes time .. / blow out excess
8) Insert punched carto in tank .. fill tank
9) Drip 3 drops into the threaded end of carto to just make sure coil is saturated
10) Take a couple puffs without activating battery

I know it's a hassle, but it's never failed me .. report back if it worked ..

Thanks Uncle Willie! That's how I normally prime them before I started trying the condom method last night. I think I've found the culprit. So I conducted a lil experiment. I broke out some of my novas out of my stash & some other juices. Not using the juices I've been working with since last night I primed the cartos and filled my tanks. Not a problem. Juice tastes exactly as they should. Took the same juice that I'd been getting the bad flavor from and put them in the novas. Same bad taste I was getting in the cartos. I know that this vendor is known for not being heavy on flavor but for 3 different ones to taste almost the same is strange. They were made on 3/5/13 so I'm going to put them back in the steep drawer for another week or 2 to see if they improve. Boy...I wish I had gone all mad scientist last night...could've saved a bunch of cartos!! I feel so silly! Thanks for all of the help everyone!

Having a few old school attys laying around always helps when you are trying to narrow down where the issue is coming from .. :)

I'm glad I finally figured it out! It was driving me nuts! I love them now that I've gotten the hang of them! I was starting to get discouraged a little after all of the cartos I'd gone through last night. Ill definetly have to grab some more dripping attys in a couple of days when I can get over to the closet b&m. You should try them out they are so good once you get the priming thing down.
