Hey all, I just started using my first carto-tank. One question: is it advisable to vape it empty before removal? Trying to twist it while loaded just makes the tank spin around the carto. I have to lift it up a bit to get a grip on the carto and unscrew it.

Just wanted to know if I'm pretty much stuck with the tank on the battery until it is empty.

Never thought of that problem. Glad my Smok tanks/cartos are flanged. Can you use your drip tip to help unthread it? Perhaps putting downward pressure as you unthread?

Nope, the tip just spins haha. The bottom of the one I'm currently using is flanged, but I still need to raise the tank a bit to get to it.

Which cartotank are you using?

You should be able to take the tank off of your battery device and empty the remaining juice from the tank. It is worth investing in a tank accessory tool like the Slap Yo Moma to assist in this. Not only will one assist you in moving the cartomizer in the tank, making carto exchanges and juice refills easier/faster, but it will also protect your tank's o-rings from unnecessary wear & tear.

I have TWO Slap Yo Mama's, plus the Phiniac/Siam tank tool haha. They work great for changing the carto and refilling the tank, but don't do me any good when it comes to just unscrewing the whole thing at once.

The tank I'm using is a Phiniac Skinny Phinny and a SmokTech carto. Might be a Resurrector, or at least a clone.

Ok, hours later I turned the tank and the whole rig turned with it. I can unscrew it again. I'm thinking one, two, or all of these were the problem:

  • Carto screwed in too tight
  • O-rings still too moist
  • Not enough vacuum pressure
Probably # 1 or 2. Don't overscrew the carto too tightly into your battery device's connector. If you do, you should have a number of drip tips on hand that fit tightly into the carto, and then with some firm pressure toward the mod twist the drip tip counter-clockwise to unscrew the carto from the battery device connector.

I wasn't completely clear what you were asking about originally.

I figured you were a bit lost after reading it, no problems haha. Thanks for the tip, I will note that. I think my Slap Yo Mama should be tight enough if the need ever arises, I just didn't want to put too much pressure on it my first time out.
