I've been out of the loop for a while. Completely off of nicotine myself, but my lady is still going strong. She has an Infinity Pro that she likes to run at full voltage. We've been putting Boge pre-punched, two hole, stainless 3ohm cartos in an M1A1 tank.

Lately the cartos have been getting a burnt taste really quickly. She tends to hold the button down for the duration of several draws and then repeats a few seconds later. It seems like the juice flow just isn't keeping up.

So, I'm looking for a new option. I see lots of new tank-style-carto/clearomizer options with replaceable heads. Can anyone recommend a solid option that can handle heavy use at high voltage? Ease of operation is a plus, too.

If she is using a high VG juice then she'll have this problem with any tank. The higher the PG then thinner the juice and the faster it can wick. Also air flow plays an important roll in wicking. An airflow controller may help but they are larger in diameter than the Infinity Pro and would look kind of funny.

The only clearo with replaceable heads I can recommend, since I don't like clearos, would be one of the Aspire tanks but again if her juice is too thick she will still have wicking problems. Maybe if she increased her nic level and or PG level she wouldn't have to take 3 drags at a time.

Well, if your lady puts a 3Ω cartomizer on 5.6 volts (the max voltage of Infinity Pro), she're vaping at 10.45 watts. Sorry, but no single-coil cartomizer and no (single) stock coil of a clearomizer will be able to handle that much wattage--they are just not designed to do that. They can't wick fast enough to keep the coil wet and cool. Cartomizers, because of the proximity of the coil to the cotton wrap and poly filler, are the most vulnerable to burning. I'm surprised that she can get any vape out of a Boge carto at 10+ watts, honestly. IMHO, single stock coils perform best between 5.5-8.5 watts. Anything above 9 or 10 watts will always taste burnt, no matter what you do.

I agree with tmcase that she probably needs more nicotine in her eliquid... And she really needs to dial that voltage down to avoid burning her cartos. Or she needs to move to RBAs, which can handle wattages above 10 watts.

Or she could try a dual coil tanks, like Kanger Aero or the Aspire Nautilus. They can take more voltage because of their dual-coil design. The vape will not be any hotter, but the vapor production will increase with dual coils.

Good luck.

I agree that running those cartos at that voltage can create real problems. Also, Boge isn't know for exacting quality control and in the last several months there have been a lot of reported problems with Boge cartos. So much so that Ikenvape has finally dropped Boge as their manufacturer of choice for their own line of cartos. So if this problem has only come up with recently purchased Boge cartos there may be a reason.
