The tank just holds the juice, it's the cartomizer that is important for the taste. You might want to check out Baditude's blog for tips on setting up a carto tanks:

What Ocelot said - Also, even though I perfer a DCT, you might find they are not for you, so instead of getting a very good tank (like the ones at IBTanked), you might just want to try a very cheap tank with a good cartomizer to start. FASTTECK has what is a workable tank with a dip tip, and a admittedly very poor cartomizer for only $3.

I'm personally very fond of the tanks from IBTanked. The completes run about $25-30. Make sure you get a refill tip. This will keep you from tearing up your o-rings when refilling.
IBTanked are my favorite as well. Very sturdy, nice looking tanks and the 'thingy' they come in makes priming cartos effortless, with a perfectly primed carto every time. I use the Smoktech single coil 3.2 ohm pre-punched cartos they sell - with a bulk discount if you buy over 10 of them, it comes out to about $1.35 apiece for the cartos.

I have more IBTanks than anything, but the one I end up using the most is a polypro tank from Valley View Vapes. It's not the prettiest and has grommets, so putting in a new carto can be a pain, but the side-fill screw makes up for it. He also makes them with caps, so there isn't the grommet issue, but I've gotten used to this one. It hasn't leaked once in over a year.

Triple V Jumbo - 5ml Tank

ETA: Since it is polypro it doesn't react to juice flavors and if you drop it, it won't break.

I just got a pair of tanks from VVV. I bought scratch-and-dent premium 4ml tanks, and there's not much in the way of scratch or dent... Each glass cylinder has a tiny chip or imperfection along one edge, and I do mean tiny. I wouldn't have spotted them if I weren't looking for it. Overall, I think I made a wise choice; a quality tank at a reasonable price.

BTW, if you order from VVV, get their tank tool as well. It's cheap and does exactly what it's supposed to do.

So far I'm not in love with the carto portion of this setup. It's providing enough vapor, but the flavor seems to be strangely absent compared to the BCC EVOD I was using with this juice. I don't know if it's me, the carto, or the juice. I guess I'll load up the second tank this evening with something different and see where it leads.

Shizzz, I have posted this many, many times. An easy and cheap way to get started with a great tank is the Artemas Tank from madvapes.com along with Smoktech flanged cartos in 1.7 Ohms, 2 Ohms, or 3 Ohms with one or two holes prepunched from Crystal Clear Vaping. The tanks (no cartridge) are under $9.00 each, do not leak, lock the carto in, look good, are well made, and I have yet to damage one after almost 6 months of use. I have four of them and love them. The flanged XL cartos from crystalclearvaping.com are about $10 per box of 5 or cheaper in boxes of three. They are "generally" quite good and I find each carto will last at least a week and sometimes 2 weeks. I say generally because once in awhile you get a bad carto (China quality control is not the best).

Best Wishes Wabbit
