Why have I never found a carto tank that uses threads to secure the carto to the tank? It may make them a little more complicated, but it would solve the problem of the cartos accidentally sliding out and draining all your juice.

I went from starting with CE4, then to the vivi nova, and now I rotate between the novas and my new smoktech carto tanks. I still love my novas for variety, but I've really been digging the carto tanks for consistency in vapor production. The problem is that when they are in a pocket I'm very nervous of them leaking, so I'm very careful with them.

I just can't believe with all of the manufacturers making tanks none of them have come up with a better carto tank. Does anyone know of one in existence?

But cartos don't have threads... so you'd need specialized cartos made just for that type of tank. That'd certainly make them more expensive, defeating part of the purpose of using a carto tank, which is that you can just slide them onto standard cartos.

Personally, I find I don't have any trouble with mine leaking. If you get one that's built properly, you don't need threading to keep it dry.

If there was a thread on the bottom cap sandwiching the carto flange between the bottom cap and the tank base there wouldn't have to be any other changes other than maybe a vent for filling (which some tanks already have). It is just a thought. There must be a reason that I haven't thought of yet. It just seems like a no brainer to me.

I can drop my vivi novas all day long without worrying about the tank coming apart. But, with a tank held together by friction with an o-ring there is the possibility of the tank coming apart. Also, I can carry my novas in my pockets all day without them coming apart. I can't say the same for a tank without threads.

This is probably what you are looking for, Hagphish : 510 U-DCTank Combo - 3ml/Mini

I haven't any of these tanks. Frankly, I've not had a need for locking the tank onto anything on the battery end. I've carried my cartotanks in my pockets for at least 8 months and not had a tank come apart.

Common sense will dictate picking up you vaping device by the battery, and not by the tank alone. Even that, unless you are pulling on the tank trying to remove the device from a REALLY tight pocket, it shouldn't be so loose that it will come off of the carto. I think you are being overly paranoid. But if you are still concerned, try the above tank system.

Well, I haven't had a tank come apart, so maybe you guys are right. But, I've only had them a week and have heard other people all over youtube and this forum stating that they can come apart and leak. I guess I just fall into the category of one who likes to be prepared and proactive. But, I don't plan on running out and spending even more money on new tanks.

I've been a carto/tank user pretty much since I started vaping. Never had a problem with the tank falling apart, except once! I handed my PV to someone else, and he slid the tank clean off the carto! Juice everywhere. I guess it didn't fall apart, just error by the ignorant. Moral of the story...never hand pv with tank to someone else. :)

Well, I've been using them everyday now, and I haven't had an issue with them coming apart. But, they do seem to flood way easier than the novas.

I gotta say, the consistancy in flavor and vapor is fantastic with carto tanks. I never used standard cartos because I though I would be refilling them constantly. With the 2 XL DCTs I can vaporize for at least three days without having to top them off. And, even then I'm only down to about a third of a tank. So far so good. But, I still love my novas.

The AGR is what you are looking for. Fantastic tank, love it. BUT, polycarbonate tank and will crack with the killer juices. Aside from that It works great and locks a standard carto into the bottom plate. Comes with a tall tank also in case you use XL cartos. Available at Steam Monkey.

Just looked at that AGR tank. They look pretty cool, except the plastic.

If they are coming apart and leaking, 9 times out of 10 this is caused by user error. Inserting a carto into a tank without either using a filling tool or a drip tip the same diameter as the carto will slowly chew up your o-rings causing them to fail.
