OK, Naming competitions are fun, but there's a problem here.

We are talking about two separate products plus a combination of these two products, right?
  1. The new GGTS
  2. The new GGTS AFS
1 & 2 combined.

So just naming the combined unit seems completely daft, and very confusing.

Makes much more sense (and a LOT less confusing) to call them.
  1. GGTS Version 2
  2. GGTS Specific AFS (or GGTS Automatic Vapn System)
Combined - GGTS v2 with AVS

I deal with potential GG customers every day who are already totally confused and don't want to ask their questions on the GG forum in public. Any other names will just cause even more confusion. Please let's not make this harder than it already is for those new to the GG?

Lisa well said. I think the most important thing for Imeo is to reach out to new customers in a simple and straight forth way.

GGTPS - "Perfect Storm"

GGTSF - "Storm Feeder"

or my personal preference: GGTS, AFS(TS), GGTS w/AFS(dedicated)

personally, I wouldn't want to own the TS with only the AFS cap. Don't get me wrong, I love the AFS, when it's working. But if an atty burns out when I'm on the town, I want to screw the AFS off and screw a 901 with a drip tip on. I'm willing to carry the other cap to be able to do that, but I don't want to have to field strip an AFS full of liquid to change the atty while I'm sitting at a bar. It'd be bad advertising for someone to see me having to do that to keep it running as I'm explaining to them how this is the ideal solution for vaping... (Also, I carry a few spare cartos so I can offer people a hit without having to clean the mouthpiece.

My 2 cents.

Further to this, I thought we had already talked this out ages ago and decided that AVS makes a lot of sense because all AFS copiers have already taken the AFS initials for their systems, so moving to AVS seems sensible to me.

Well it was fun while it lasted...I must say! :D:D:D

Sorry man, I know it's fun, but then a name is found, everyone then takes it seriously and it just confuses the hell out of my customers. There are many GG owners and potential GG owners who don't spend much time on these boards and really don't know much about the range and just go and buy something else because they can't get their head around what the GG has to offer. We've got to make it as simple as possible for them, I think. Everyone deserves the joy that is GG ownership, right?

New AFS works in the way you said scha. You unscrew it, put it in a small plastic bag not to mess anything with liquid and you screw an atomizer on the GGTS, no problem:)

Lisa..as a newcomer to the GG family I can tell you I'm still personally confused some aspects of the product line. I know that some models have already been discontinued and others have evolved through several different versions. I don't mind delving into old posts and trying to bring myself up to speed on the older models and evolutions, but I agree that most folks are not as OCD as myself.

I'll also say that I've read over quite a bit of the rest of the forums..studied different models..made some of my own..etc and from a readers standpoint I can usually identify the specific model by it's dedicated name and/or even it's initials if it's become common usage...(BSB for example..for Black Silver Bullet). The difference here being is that the dedicated name came first and the initials or shorthand second. I personally don't want to own a GGTS-AFS or AVS either way...I want to own a Silver Bullet..a Tornado..a Hurricane..or whatever...I don't want to own initials.

I know that all those initials stand for something and that the GGTS is actually the Storm...but does anyone call it that...? It's confusing and sad. Initials don't have a heart..there's no emotional connection..there's no bonding there. It's like owning a famous horse named Trigger(Roy Roger's horse) and calling him PSWH(Palomino Stallion with a white hoof).

Also from a marketing and collector standpoint it would be really nice to not have to showoff your collection and say this is v1, v2, v3, TS, TS-AFS...etc...it's just way too confusing. I write databases..that's the place for initials and shorthand..not in the marketing of the product. If you want someone to buy an Automatic Vaping System..then you need to think of a name that brings that to mind and clinches the client with the vision of it. That will also solve much confusion for you customers as they'll be able to ask for something by name and immediately tell that it's a different model.

Don't mean to rant...I'm just a Texan and fairly opinionated and now have my AFSv2..and too much free time on my hands since I don't have to refill my cart every 10 drags...LOL!

I am honored.... And thrilled that my user name will go down in GG history. Thank you imeo!

We had agree about this months ago Keith so there is no way not to keep my word. You deserve this and you deserve much more than this after all your efforts for GG buddy.!!!

Understand all your points wolf. Technically, the GGTS is the GG Telescopic, it's just easier to shorten it when we type it a lot.
Calling these devices by other commonly used words does not help us when people are using search engines to try and locate them - this is one reason. I was never entirely happy with the Storm name, both because someone else in the e-cig world (more than one I think) had already used it, and also because it wasn't specific enough really for search engine optimisation.

Added to this, we have new versions every few months or so and it would get just too confusing for everyone if they all had a different name, not to mention the search engine problems again.

Essentially, the new GG Telescopic, is similar in form and function to the current one.
The new AFS though, is quite different to the old ones and deserves a rename - as well as the fact that people have picked up the term AFS and use it generically now.
We have to refer to the new AFS as the GG specific AFS (or AVS) because it will not work on other systems, so it's essential that we make this clear to people.

People are already way beyond confused, I really don't want to do anything that's going to bamboozle them even more.......

I hear ya Lisa..thx for the reply. I also speak search engine optimization and understand how hard it is to focus those keyword results. And I do agree the Telescopic is befitting the model and one of the reasons I'm drawn to it...just not sure where the Storm comes in.

I also agree there's a definite difference between the universal AFS and the GGTS AFS. I guess I was just hoping for some name to call it. I'm struggling currently with naming discussions currently just to tell someone about my new AFSv2. I'm just punting atm and calling it my new juice tank...and yeah..I think that sucks. I just was hoping to be inspired..cause the AFSv2 is the most awesome piece of equipment I've seen on the market yet..but the name..well...

Was going to ask if there was no winner...but then I saw your post were you had promised it to Keith months before....thats why I said nevermind...lol
I think he'll pick a winner (of the GGTS) from those that posted.

Understood but you can see the problem when the design changes so regularly, calling it a different distinct name every time is even more confusing.

Imeo,

What is the status with the new AFS in combination with the i-7 or any XHV 901 attie?
Is it now working as you would like it to work, is the liquid not getting burned and is the hole feeding the liquid correct to get the 7.X Volt Vaping experience?? With the collector's tank, is it still needed to take the primal puffs, or is it working as good as the cartomizer?

thank you,

EMonty
