I think this is a manufacturer issue, not a cartomiser issue. I have also ran across some cartomisers that get extremely hot by the mouthpiece section, or at least where lips will be. This could be because ohms rating set too low, but I believe its from design, and actually due to the heating element's location being near the top, vs. bottom by threads. The same complaints are generally followed by "burnt taste". If this is true, it would make sense that gravity will pull liquid down to threads, and burnt taste will insue, all while WAY hot to the lips. Ive also seen others that do not have these complaints, namely boge. They are known to not burn lips, and give a couple "warning" draws of "off" flavor before burning. If heating element was at the bottom by threads, then both manufacturer scenarios make sense. Boge is recognized by the silver threads, though I cannot verify that boge is the ONLY manufacturer that uses silver threads.(joye does also, but WAY different design of carto requiring syringe). Retailers that have boge will generally EXCLAIM they are, due to popularity. If it is NOT stated, they generally are not.
Drip tips also work-510 for 510 etc. BUT, do not attempt to USE the drip tip as you would with attomisers. Once you pull off the cap, hard or soft, youll see the batting and distance to reach it. If you look at your drip tip, youll also see that nearly the exact same space remains from o ring to the bottom, and BOTH have exact same THICKNESS from center hole to center hole. SO unfortunately, becuase the bottom part of that drip tip isnt reamed out to allow gap and batting exposure, if you drip, you drip right down the air channel, and soon drink that liquid, or wipe it off your battery after it leaks out. Drip tips are comfy, and easier to pull off to refil, but thats it as far as use on carto's.
