So Ive been using my 510 w/ atty and bluefoam for about 1 year. I recently decided to try cartomizers . I have gotten tired of the leaking and constant refilling of my PV w/ bluefoam and always having to adjust the bluefoam.
I have liked the cartomizers since they dont leak, and i dont need to refill it nearly as often and its less maintance.
Problem is that the cartomizer just isnt as fulfilling as my atty. Flavor isnt as great and the throat hit kinda sucks. The cartomizer is better when i have it hooked up to my passthru.

Im kinda looking for some pointers here, is it just timie for me to get a different PV model that works better w/ cartomizers. Do I just suck it up and continue with my atty/bluefoam ? Just looking for others input.

Thanks in advance

I have the same problem with carto's. The standard resistance ones just don't have enough kick. I use them for on the go use because of convenience but really look forward to getting home to my LR atty. The LR carto should solve that part of the problem, but you probably shouldn't use them on a standard 510 batteries because they're likely to kill them. In your situation I'd recommend upgrading to something that can handle the 2.0 ohm carto's, at least you'll get a better hit and the flavor might improve too. But that's just my :2c:.

At a minimum, I would upgrade to an eGo or Riva PV. But if you really want a more consistent vape with better throat hit and the ability to use a cart, carto or drip then I would suggest either a good 5 volt PV such as the GLV2 or even better a good variable volt PV such as the Darwin. I just tried my first Darwin last night and due to it's advance technology, it will make most other PV's obsolete. It's really that good.

@cskent
well I was thinking of trying a low res. with the 510 mega battery (which I think is ok to use w/ the low ohm?) but I also want something portable w/ a PCC. At home I mostly use my passthru, so my main need is something when Im out.

@wv2win
I have considered a eGo or a janty stick. Again Im looking for something low profile for when im out and the ability to recharge.

I used a standard 510 when I first started vaping and found it lacking in the vapor and TH department so I put a 1.5 ohm atty on it and it got way better. I didn't know you weren't supposed to do that, and apparently my batteries didn't know it either. I never had a problem. That being said, it isn't recommended. If you aren't concerned about losing a battery or two then give it a shot with the 2.0 ohm carto's.

If you go VV the atty resistance does not have to be an LR type and you can tune the voltage to the atty , I see you went with another 3.7 volt device all you did was increase the battery charge time so the vape will be the same .

I didnt necessarily want a VV or a mod only because they tend to be bulky. I still want something that is relatively portable but gives me a fulfilling vaping experience. Ive been happy with my 510 and blufoam. Im just looking for a more consistent vape without the hassle. I also dont want to spend a ton of money as mods tend to be a bit more. I could be wrong, but the ego tank might fit the bill, the battery will last longer, and the tank will hopefully (fingers crossed) lead to good hits and less filling time. At worst I should be able to throw a LR atty on the ego and switch out the tank.
I would like to get a VV at some point but for now I think my money would be better spent elsewhere
