Boil them for a few minutes, place them in a ziplock bag with uncooked rice for 24 hours. Good as new.

Also the plastic end will come off if you dip the mouth end into boiling water for 30-45 seconds. The first cartos I received were this type and I also destroyed the inner piece trying to pry it out.

All of the over works...

I would just add that after you boild them, put them in a strainer and rinse them with cold water. When the are cool enough to hold, blow the excess water out of them. Do it over the sink and blow from the mouth end.

Once there all blow out and you can blow anymore water out of them, put them in the zip-lock bag full of uncooked rice.

It may not speed it up, but it DOES suck the moisture out.
Basically, yes rice absorbs water, but it doesn't DRAW it out. If you were to lay the item to be dried, on a sponge or paper towel, it will be just as effective. And you will have saved yourself one bag/box of rice (not that it cost a lot).

:2c: I've saved many wet cell phone over the years without rice. If anything, place your atty's under a hot lightbulb or heatlamp for a little while.

and...for an atomizer, what does it matter if there is a slight bit of moisture in there, it doesn't hurt anything...it will cook itself dry in a matter of seconds anyway. At least in my experience. Most e-juices have watter in them anyway.

Maybe you are thinking of an atty cart combo (2 piece) , from what I am reading , this is about one piece cartos.
Trying to vape a wet carto is like trying to suck a milk shake with chunks of fruit through a straw. It just doesn't vape until the filler is dry. If you try to dry it by using it , it will ruin the filler.

I'm thinking it might be possible that it speeds up the drying in very humid environments. The item is surrounded by the rice and in a ziploc bag causing the moisture to evaporate more quickly because the surrounding air is lacking moisture. At least when compared to just leaving it out in a very humid environment.

All that being said, I've never dried a carto out, lol. Also, most/all home A/C units pull moisture from the air. So the difference, if any, shouldn't be too great.
