Cartomizers versus all comers...

Ok, I'm a noob, and after doing my research I decided to go with cartomizers. The thing is, it wasn't a hard decision to make at all. What I mean is, you'd think with all the starter kits set up to use atomizers or tanks that those systems would be better alternatives for beginners, but from what I can tell the older technology cartomizers are a much easier and simpler method for beginners. Am I missing something?

I have to agree that cartomizers are the way to go for a beginner, they offer a great vape IMO, but atomizers definately have their place, they are great for testing juices and those times you are at home and feel like dripping:vapor:. That being said there are some cool tanks like the DCT smoktechs and vision extremes, but i would personally steer people away from eGo-T style tanks and whatnot, that is just my opinion though, lots of folk like them. Come and join the fun in the Canada sub-forum once you get your 5 posts done up! Where are you buying from?

Well I started out with a 510-t kit ... Isn't bad at all. Was just to try ... If I didn't like it I would have thrown away less money ... Anyway I also ordered some cartomizers a bit later on ... And a cartomizer for me gives more taste ... Last week I ordered an ego-t XL USB battery and some smoktek dual coil mega cartomizers .... People should set up a kit like this. It's easy to use, and yummie is all I can say about that :)

Kits with carto's would be a good sell tbh

Well, people seem to agree that cartomizers are the way to go, certainly for beginners anyway. So why are all the starter kits set up with atomizers? Is it some kind of marketing ploy to make people spend more money or what? You'd think the industry, wanting to give new comers the best possible initial experience, would set up starter kits so that they're the simplest they could possibly be.

When I was doing my research I found it very perplexing seeing atomizers included in the "starter" units, then trying to square that with what I new about cartomizers (being the simpler and more convenient method for vaping). I kept thinking that I must not understand something, like maybe the there was some kind of hidden advantage to using atomizers that I hadn't come across yet in my research. That kept me chasing my tail for quite a while. And I still which I knew why "starter kits" include atomizers for the most part instead of cartomizers.

This is just my one month of PV experience talking so take this with as much salt as you need, but I think that for a newcomer the atomizers offer flexibility in juice that Cartos don't.

I.E.-Thought that CinnaTrout sounded like an exciting taste treat and realized after a pull on your atty that it tastes about as good as it sounds? Just rinse the cartridge, clean the atty as best you can, and run some strong juice through it until the nightmare goes away.

Put something nasty through a carto and they're often out a carto, at least until they're seasoned enough to clean one without demolishing it...not that I'm not 50/50 myself.

That is also true ... Carto's is good if you found flavors you like. Atomizers/tanks are great for trying out juices
I now use 90% of the time cartos, when trying out I use the atomizers/tanks

Believe it or not, the e-cigar came first followed by the e-pipe. They were around for a year before the first e-cigarette hit the market. Atomizers and cartridges have been around from the beginning, so they are not something that came along later. Bottom feeders with their little bottle of juice inside are still a viable way of using an atomizer, and has a fairly large following of experienced vapors. Direct dripping is still a very popular way to enjoy vaping. So the atomizer does have it's place.
All that said, I do agree that the cartomizer is the best alternative for beginners, and they are beginning to catch on in starter kits.

Everyone needs a 306 LR atty with a drip tip to test juices. You drip 3 drops to start and add 2 when the flavor dies. It's an easy way to decide whether you want to dedicate a carto to a particular juice. You can also do this with the 510 attys that come with a kit, but the 306 seems to control leaks much better and it has a robust bridge that holds more juice.

I completely agree with this. Attys do have a place in ones vaping supplies. I'm not an atty fan in the least bit except for the dual coil atomizer...no I did not say cartomizer...I said atomizer. Only one vendor carries it...cloudsofvapor.com. Best dripping or bottom feeding atty IMO...I think Bruce had these made for people like me that hate using an atty. The only time I use a 306 is when I'm testing out flavors. Other than that, the dual coil atomizers are on my bottom feeders. The rest of my PV's have cartomizers on them. I like simple vaping and hate having to carry around a bunch of bottles.
