I'm not having much luck with this topic in the d.i.y section so I'll ask here.

I need some feedback from people who've used cartomizers, clearomizers and tanks extensively.
I started vaping with an 808 which many will know you could only vape with cartomizers for ages. Clearomizers etc were slow to come to the 808 world. I recently got some 808 clearomizers. The first 2 I bought were clear and I didn't notice much difference in taste. Probably because all my d.i.y. stuff was old and nothing had much flavor.
I bought a new batch of flavorings and mixed up something I'm very fond of. I put it into a new colored clearomizer and it was pretty nasty. I put some in a cartomizer and it tasted fine.
Is it common for flavors to taste drastically different in a clearo vs a carto? Which flavors are best suited to the clearos and I assume tanks as well. I know you shouldn't use cinnamon and citrus in clearos because they disintegrate.
Thanks.
:vapor:

The tanks I got came with my eGo-C
These are the clearos I have:

I use carto-tanks and a RDA, and I've been wanting to order some new hh 357 atomizers. I've used clearos, like the ce4 types, protanks, and the iclear 30..I will say that I do like the iclear30, but the air pull isn't tight enough to my liking. The actual vapor production is 'milkier.' It feels like a looser, more voluminous cloud. I feel like I get more flavor with a carto-tank. The vapor production is actually more dense feeling as well. If I had to use a cartomizer by itself, I'd throw it away and use a dripping atomizer..lol. The lone cartomizer is probably a good choice for someone considering cartomizers, because it will give you an idea of the feel of a cartomizer, but the hassle with having to drip into polyfill isn't worth it. That's why I would use a drip atomizer, RDA or long barreled. I actually prefer the hh 357 and similar atomizers to RDAs... I can't wait to see about how 'I'm not using the RDA right...' in further posts in this thread. :)

Polycarbonate and acrylic are what disintegrate with the PH that constitute cinnamon and citrus. You can use polyethylene and polypropylene polymer containing tanks. You can avoid any concern of truly knowing what your tank is made out of by getting a pyrex/glass tank.

"Most" people will agree that a cartomizer (or cartotank) will provide more flavor than a clearomizer.

Think about it. A clearo only uses string wicks to bring juice (which contains the flavor) to the heating coil. A cartomizer uses a big wad of polyfiller as the wicking material and it completely surrounds the heating coil. This is a much more efficient method of bringing e-liquid to the atomizer.

Cartomizers and cartotanks take a little more time and care to fill, but are worth it. Clearos are used because they are faster to fill and of their greater ease of use.

I have dc cartotank, 2 protanks and a evod. When im not using my mech and a dripper (which is very rare these days) im using the protank and evod. Easy to build andtaste really good with peaches and creme cotton yarn.

the carto tank is nice though, with certain flavors. I liked it alot with green apple and that same carto was good with cherry limade. When that died cherry limade sucek in them, guessing you need to flavor them with something stronger for the others to taste good.

Help me understand this, what I'm i missing. I'm a dripper, and most would agree dripping produces the best flavor. I use attys that are bridgeless, so just a coil with a wick with juice dripped on it. How does stuffing a bunch of polyfill around it produce better flavor? Isn't the purpose of the polyfill to hold more juice and deliver it to the wick?

You are correct. If you look closer at my statement, I was making a comparison between a cartotank and a clearomizer.

There are those vapors who can detect a "flavor or " taste" presence of either the polyfiller material of a cartomizer or the plastic of a clearomizer. However, the vast majority of people can not detect any.

I've used dripping atomizers, and they do indeed give great flavor. I just do not care for what I consider an inconvenience of having to add more juice every few puffs in order to continue vaping.

And yes, I have a bottom feeder box mod, too. I enjoy it and it compliments my total setups. I find the inconvenience of having to take my box mod apart in order to change flavors a PITA, so the box mod gets less attention than my usual mods.

I don't have an all-day vape flavor. I switch between flavors at least 4 times a day, with up to a dozen tanks going simultaneously each with their own flavor.

I get my best vapes from carto tanks, both flavor and vapor. Anything citrus or cinnamon should be in a Pyrex tank.
Yes, juices do taste different in different delivery devices. For me, as I stated, carto tanks give me the best experience.

Juices do taste different in different delivery devices, I confirm. ;)
Clearomizer are best for fruit flavors, cartomizers best for the tastes of tobacco, for example. Atom 510 give a more realistic flavour.

I like dripping, but I am on bad's side of the more hassle free dealings with carto tanks. I love RDA's and long barrels, but I tend to be more in relaxed positions or out and about when I'm vaping. I don't typically sit at home and want to deal with dripping, or having the genesis style RDA tip over and leak. So I choose carto tanks in the two options I have left. I'd like to have money to throw at an AMP tank, to make another option, but I've heard mix things about it to drop $130 on a single tank system..when I'm pretty crazy with the amount of flavors I change daily.

Now you know why so many Reo users have more than one.

Changing ANYTHING changes the way a flavor tastes.
