Cartomizers: What's Your Cut?

Question is how do you like your cartos cut? Do you like hole punched or slotted? 19mm, 35mm or 45mm? One hole or two? Standard (2.0 to 2.2) or low (1.6 to 1.8) resistance? Single coil or dual coil? What's your number?

One thing I have learned is the PG/VG ratio is very important when it comes to how well a carto wicks.

Please post your carto number and PG/VG ratio you vape to help new carto users find the right combination.

I use 45mm (xl) punch then my self, one hole for about 1 1/2 years. 3.0 ohm 50/50

I'm going to add 3 hole + as an option as well. Those high VG juices definitely wick better 3 plus.

I use the Ikenvape 35mm 2 hole 2.3 dual hole punch cartos most of the time. I also like the Boge slotted LR cartos, I had good luck with a pack of those recently.

2 slots sounds good for 100% VG thanks for that info. I think in the end this thread will pretty much pinpoint the proper wicking combinations for our beloved cartos.

Oh, I just reread the above. I use 2ohm.... I always thought SR was 3.

i run 100% VG juice plus flavor.

i use a pretty stout, long mouth to lung inhale that switches from mouth to lung during the inhale (before i remove the device from my mouth).

my wife and father both do your standard mouth to lung inhale. they use 50/50 juice or 65pg/35vg (flavor included).

we all use and so far prefer double laser punched boge xl lr cartos.

Boge 801 XL-Prepunched larger-1 hole or
Boge 510 XL- Preslotted. Depends on which carto I am able to order. I prefer the slotted.

IF I use a carto its either 15 or 29 (LR Slotted various lengths)

These days I mostly use a Diver rebuildable in my tanks though.

50/50 juice and sometimes 60vg/40 pg

I only use Ikenvape and Boge. I wish the Ikenvape cartos were a lower resistance. My Zmax shows my Ikenvapes as 2.3ohms wich are #23 on this list. My Boge LR's which are #35 on the list come in at 1.6 to 1.8 max.

I think I had such good luck with the slotted cartos recently because the low ohms go through the juice quicker and the slots allow that to happen. Sometimes by Boge F16s can't keep up with a lot of vaping of juice over 20%VG.

If I don't have the IKV, I use Smoktech 2-hole 3.0 ohm single coils.

I use regulated variable voltage mods, so I can get a wider range of usable voltages using standard resistance coils. I prefer a "cooler vape", so SR coils provide that as LR are too warm and harsh for me in a regulated mod. I use 3.7 - 4.5 volts primarily depending upon the flavor being vaped. The rare times that I use a mechanical mod I'll use LR coils in them for better vapor production.

I don't use dual coils, only single coil cartos.

The majority of my e-liquids are 50/50 pg/vg, so the 2-hole cartos work fine.

Awesome info. I also use VV mods with my cartos. I have used them with mechs I have and I just don't get nearly the performance or flexibility out them as I do my VV mods. I also only use single coil.
