I very recently bought 2 kr8 kits to see the other option to the 510. I am happy with my purchase except for one thing. I bought 3 pks of cartos to go with my kit, and they seem rather useless for anything but boiling out and refilling. Little or no vapor at all. Can anyone recommend a good vendor for cartos that are consistant and have some vapor? I know about V4L, are there any others?

From my experience, it's not the cartos that affect vapor production, it's what you put in them. I've used cartos from at least six different vendors and they are pretty consistent across the board. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but they are all coming from the same factory or handful of factories in China with variations in appearance only depending on what vendor you get them from. I've gotten good vapor production with plain old PG but once I started using PG/VG mix or all VG my vapor production increased quite a bit. I order mine right now from eliquidplanet.com (box of 5 blank black cartos for $6.99).

If I am reading the OP's post correctly he is saying that the prefilled carts juice was horrible and unsatisfying. I dont know any other companies than v4l, and litecig that have a decent selection of prefilled cartos.

Now if I am wrong and you are looking for a good carto, I have to disagree with Hammond. The new cartos that Vapornine have out now are amazing for taste and vapor production. The throat hit is great as well but not harsh like some of the others. Take a look at his forum, or search the forums. There are several people raving about the new cartos.

Unlike Hammond, I find cartomizers to be inconsistent with flavor (some have an underflavor that ruins it for me - although not V4L) vapor and length of time. V4L's newport for example has very little vapor and each cartos in the pack lasted about 1/2 hour - I get better than that on a regular cart on the 510. Caramel mocha frap. gets good vapor and lasts 3 hours. Everything else I tried from V4L is in between. Even though one manufacture may be making these, there is still quite a difference between the different products. This was the same with Dekang vs. Joye/janty juice - both were made by Dekang, but Joye/Janty paid for different formulations. So coming from the same company doesn't assure either quality or consistency.

If you want more vapor, try the 'premium' cartos from V4L. You still won't get 510 type vapor but it is better than their regular cartos - unfortunately right now, the only ones that I know that have the better ohms in the internal atty is watermelon (for me, read a red cucumber ;-), green apple and strawberry- thanks to a good buddy - Other premiums are a bit better but not like those 'soft tipped' ones. Then once you get them and use them - clean 'em and use your own ejuice. Or wait until someone gets some blank premium soft tips and just buy those. That way you'l get more value and use from the KR8 kit than you are now :)

I looked at them on the vapornine website. looks like a plain old KR808 carto to me. Other than the high price, is there any specific difference?

Oh, and for others in this thread, I was referring to empty cartos. I don't use prefilled. The OP was unclear and I thought they were talking about blanks.

I know they look the same, there is no need to change the look. I know everyone thinks lower resistance = better vape, but actually the cartos from vapornine are between 3.1 - 3.4, but they have been redesigned. Its a bunch of minor changes that you may not notice physically, but man do these cartos throw out killer vapor! if you look at the vapornine subforum I have a video, you can see at the end of the video with his crisp menthol prefilled carts just how much vapor I get.
