Based on what I've read on ECF and what I've seen on YouTube everyone seems love the cortos and carto tanks. When i first get a carto, I prime it slip in in the tank and vape away. IT IS AMAZING. For a day. Maybe two. Then one of two things start to happen: Either it floods like crazy and I can't even take the softest of toots without getting a mouth full or juice or it clogs up and I feel like I can't get a good hit no matter what I do.

Is this par for the course or am I doing something wrong? IMO @2 bucks a pop its not worth it to have to replace it every other day. As for right now I've been using clearomizers and dripping. Its a good vape, but it really isn't as good as a fresh carto.

I've tried buying different resistances, dual coil vs single coil. All single punched. Doesn't seem to make a difference for my issue. Any advice would be appreciated and maybe I'll give it another shot.

Thanks!

I have been having the same issues with my DCT's, I have started to think it's coming from storing them with juice in them over night. I have yet to test this theory or search the threads for any info.

I'm going to start only having juice in them when I am using them, as in removing the juice before I go to sleep and refilling it when I start vaping for the day.

I also was wondering if restricted air flow in the connector maybe contributing, but really hadn't look too closely at it yet.

Geez I'm helpful... lol :)

I really, REALLY, REALLY wish these things would be easier to use for casual vapers. They're so freaking awesome, so much better than clearos, and ALMOST as good as dripping.

I know what I'm going to do. I'm going to make my own Youtube video tomorrow or in the next two days and post it here. That seems to be the only way I can describe how to use these best.

I'm going to do my best to make it as user and noob friendly as possible. I've figured out how to use these where I'm 100% completely satisfied, and I want to make sure my fellow vapers can benefit.

That being said, if others find a way to make it work just as good, I ask you to upload a link to your own Youtube video.

Check back at this thread in a day or two, I promise a reply.

Thanks Byten. I actually have a 510 to 510 adapter in the mail. I've heard that helps with airflow issues. I'm not sure about the theory of leaving the juice in overnight. You still have juice in the carto itself that could clog?

I wasn't thinking about clogging, just the passing idea that juice may continue to flow into the carto causing flooding which is a pain in the ... to correct on these. I'm not so sure anymore on that anymore, I have cleared my DCT out from flooding 3 times in the last few hours. I'm sure there is a few threads on this, just haven't gotten around to that search yet.

Interesting, I'm using 50/50 as well and seems to happen more as I use it. Heat thinning it out the juice and flooding? Or maybe just sucking on it too hard and too often? Wife has pointed out I do that some times... giggle. :)

I consider myself still a noob and have only encountered carto flooding once... When I tried to fill the tank by popping off the top o-ring, squeezing juice in, and then popping the top o-ring back on. The air pressure = instant carto flooding and leaking. I only did that once. I've since filled and primed over 6 or 7 carto tanks with 0 problems. Not tooting my own horn, just wish to help.

Thanks everyone. I think part of my problem is I'm vaping on a budget and I'm still figureing out what works for me. I've speent december budget already so in january I think I'm going to spend most of my budget on cartos so I can experiment somemore. I've only used less then 5 so far... maybe thats not enough to get a good grasp on how to do it.

@washvape: so far they have been pre punched cartos

I have a couple tanks that can have the flooding issues but I have found if I store them horizontally overnight as opposed to leaving them standing up it helps. They can also be very picky about the hole size, with 50/50 I keep the holes fairly small. I have found the pre-punched Ikenvape to be excellent in tanks. I drip at home but use carto tanks when out and about.

I just read what romaniac posted here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tanks/279333-flooding-cartomizer-dct-tank.html.

I think he's got a good grasp of the problem; damaged O-rings and overheating the inside of the tank being the main causes. He also, among others, say to blow out the carto with the juice away from the holes as a temporary fix.

I did note several post around the forum on making sure your center air tube is clear, if it's not you suck more juice into the carto.

I'm guessing a combination of these factors(hot carto, small amount of juice restricting airflow, damaged O-rings) is causing our problems. I'm going to be more mindful of them and see if my issues disappear.
