So the last 3 cartos I've used have gone up in resistance. I've been using the 1.7ohm smoktech resurrectors. When I go to work, I usually take a vv boxmod because it's smaller and easier to conceal in my scrubs pocket. since I know the resistance of my carto, I set my vv box at around 4 or 4.1v. Good to go. Well, after a day or two, I notice the vape is getting really weak. Somethings not right! I can't wait to get home and put the carto on the provari and see what is going on. It meters out at 2.5! WTH? Ok, no prob, I up my voltage and all is well.
Then the next carto I use, same thing happens.. no prob, I up my voltage. Now this carto I'm using now. I metered it at the beginning and it read 2.0.. now a day later it is reading 2.4
I guess I got some wonky cartos.
The moral of this story? it is sooo nice to be able to measure the ohms on my cartos and see what is going on. I remember back when I was using egos and 3.7 box mods. The resurrectors are pretty much made for 3.7 devices (I only use them now because they wick so well for me, are xxl and I have so many) but imagine someone who uses an ego, or some other fixed device and trying to figure out what is going on. Imagine the frustration of wondering if it's the carto or the battery or the way the wind is blowing. I used to use a multimeter but they weren't very accurate and were frustrating to use. For anyone on the fence about paying the extra that this thing costs... the peace of mind alone is worth the extra money!
Now the darwin fan will say that this isn't a problem for them either, they won't even know that their cartos or attys are going up or down in resistance, the darwin will automatically adjust for it. I could only (barely) afford one nice device and I chose the Provari. I'd love to have a darwin but the arm keeps throwing me off... it doesn't look very tank friendy but I'm sure I could get around that.. I just never had darwinlust like I did provarilust for some reason.
