CASAA issues First Call to Action in connection with FDA proposed regulations: Consumers are encouraged to request an extension of the comment period.

We know that hundreds of thousands of vapers and other THR supporters have been wanting to do something to respond to the proposed regulations. This is the first opportunity to do something that really matters. CASAA is doing the research necessary to offer advice to consumers about substantive comments as well as our own comments. However, it is clear that we will not be able to do this as well as we would like within the 75 days, and thus consumer comments will be less useful unless the deadline is extended. We will be submitting our own more detailed request for an extension within a few days (and if you want to wait an see that before submitting your own, you can).

The ANTZ seem to be organizing a campaign to push the FDA to not extend the deadline, and are implying that it is only industry that wants an extension. We need to make it clear why an extension is needed, that thousands of people support providing the extension, and that this is not primarily about industry's interests. Again, there has been enormous interesting in doing *something*, and this has resulted in a lot of gestures that are unlikely to make any difference other than creating a feeing of having done something.

Please take the time to do this. It matters.

Forward, repost, and share . . . and explain to others why this is so important.

This doesn't sound good for an extension
The FDA is working on regulations for e-cigarettes and other tobacco products that include banning the sale of the products to children. The agency would likely finalize the rule some time after early July, though they are under pressure from health advocates to move faster.

Ok... how do we go about making that request? To whom? Via what media?
