I ordered some Casablanca blend about a week or two ago, and even though I saw quite a bit about letting it steep first, I always have to try it right out of the box. And...eh... It has a strong powdery flavor. I have experienced this once before early on in my vaping when ordering a flavor called "Green Monster" from EC Blends. Tastes like I'm vaping a stick of deodorant. I let it steep for about a week and just took it back out to try again. Bit better, but still a very strong powder taste. The Peach I ordered has only gone from good to better, but I was curious if anyone has run into this powdery flavor with the Casablanca or any other flavors from any vendor.

I went ahead and tried an older cleaned atty and then a brand new one, but still that flavor...:blink:

Casa is a flavor that many people believe needs to steep for several weeks... so I am not surprised. One thing that you can do to shorten the steeping time is to leave the cap off (in a location it will not be knocked over by you or a pet) for about a day and then put it back on. Having it open to the air seems to allow it to steep quicker than in a closed container.

If you were already doing that, then please ignore my post, but I suspect that you were doing what I usually do and steeping it with the cap on the bottle. Correct?

This is a flavor I once tried right out of the mailbox and hated so much that I put it down until one day I was just about out of everything else, so I opened it back up and gave it another go. Much to my surprise, months later, I loved it. It needs to steep for sure, but also I think my tastes had changed quite a bit. Give it some time. Also, its an unusual flavor that may just not be for you...

I can say that now, weeks later =P, that the flavor really has changed substantially. That powdery taste is gone, and the it's much better.

Though, after reading/hearing a few things, I found that it's supposed to have a coco taste to it? I don't get any coco at all. No chocolatey taste, just a smokey taste with some real spice behind it. I kinda dig it that way, but in small doses.

Just an update. =D

I got my first bottle of Casablanca on Friday and let it steep for a day with the cap off to get rid off the alcohol taste and i'm loving it. It seems to have an after taste like a butter finger or a nutty bar which is really nice and actually not very sweet, I hope that taste doesn't go away as it steeps longer.
