That is what I been using too...I want to lower the ohms a tad (.3-.4-ish). The 28 ga without using twisted wire is just to thin. I'd rather have dual coils without screwing around twisting wire, or making quad coils, 26 ga should do the trick.
24 and 26 are all I use unless of course I'm feeling really frugal (read cheap) then I will try twisting up some outlandish group of wires... I'm really not sure why.

Hahaha same here. 24ga for my single coil builds, and 26ga for my duals.

Just got my Cam M set up with my Thump (got it Tom, thanks again!). I'm really liking my newest toys. I have a couple of questions about the Cam M and the thump. For the Cam M I've seen people mention that they tore it town to lube and or unstick the button? How does one do that? I want to keep this thing clean and in proper working order but am not seeing how the button could be lubed. Second, the Thump, I'm running dual 28g 6wraps for .5 ohm and I'm really liking it but am wondering if anyone has used it with say a single 24g coil? Any tips for single coils with this particular attie?

I've got a gold anodized SL/LP Reo due to show up today so I'll have to take my Cam M and my newest Reo over to my local and show them off today, I need a drip tip for the Thump anyway so I have an excuse to go in there and be a showboat.:D

I have 22, 24, 26 and 28. 28 if I feel like using twisted. 24 for high vg juice. My standard build is 26, 6 or 7 wraps at 2.5mm. I find 26 to be the perfect balance.

taring down the cam-m is a breeze.

remove the bottom plate by loosening the screws with the largest allen keys on the enclosed tool.
pull the bottle and tube out
then look inside... you will see 4 nylon flat head screws... remove them
flip mod right side up and then the hole top section will fall out the bottom... may need a wiggle
when it is like this you can clean the battery contacts and button. the button is 2 piece magnet with copper rings around it.
clean contacts and button, apply deoxite or nolex and reassemble.

easy peesey.

i have not had any problems with my cam-m at all. it has fired everytime and hard too! i really like this mod!!!

Guys, Gals, I was wondering what wire type and gauge you prefer the most. I have been using 28 ga kanthol which limits the number of wraps for .4-.5 ohm's, unless its a twisted dual coil. I like the inner diameter at 2.5 so I'm not fighting the wick (cotton).

Was thinking about getting a roll of 24 ga kanthol so I have more surface area (wraps), but I'm not quit sure how well this heats. I figured with seven-eight wraps there would be more surface to wick.

Perhaps I should try different wire. Anyone have experience with stainless?...Any help would be appreciated.
I've been on a Clapton kick for the last few months. 26g Nichrome wrapped with 32 or 34g nichrome. I use a small screw driver to wrap them. Usually run duals that come out at about .23.

oh yeah... to reassemble. drop the top piece of the button in first then put the rest in after that.
Just quoting so I can find it easier, might come in handy soon! Thanks McP!!

inspects: I use 26 for everything on a single 18650, the 24 that I couldn't get to work right is ROCKING on the CAM-M in my Marquis.

Sean, I ordered some 24-26 ga today from Temco. Have every size above 27 ga already, don't know why I never bought any 24 or 26. Learned a lot here in the last few months though.

Out of the three upcoming attys I'm personally the most exited about the Solstice. If the quality is as good as it looks to be I will get with the manufacturer to talk about an alternate top to side air transitioning top cap much like the thump and manta if not maybe it's time I made my own. I told myself and a few of you guys I saw no point in making an atty but maybe the time has come. Perhaps I should get my feet wet with just atop cap?

Yes! I'm definitely in for one CAM-topcap Solstice.
