Don't you find that they vape completely different? It's nice to say they both are flavorful, but the Manta is a tall atty with a domed cap and a reduced chamber, the thump's top cap it like 1mm from the coils and has some of the same issues as the derringer regarding fighting spitback and having no chamber to speak of. You don't have to worry about leaking, just shooting juice into your eyes. LOL
Yeah I would say the spitback is a slightly bigger issue on the thump than the manta, but with the way I build it, I don't really have much issue with that.
I'm sure there are super tasters around who can tell the difference, but for me if I dialed in the airflow of the thump down to as tight as the manta, I honestly wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two. I get the same dense vapor and intense flavor from both. Tbh I've never really bought into the whole domed cap hype. Mostly a function of the fact that I personally am not discerning enough a taster, and also it makes no sense to me from a fluid dynamics perspective. IMO the biggest factor affecting flavor is chamber size period. With the size of an atomizer, airflow within is 100% turbulent and fancy internal constructs would hardly make a difference.
But that's also the opinion of an endangered flightless bird so... Yeah.
