its a nice lookin device and really like the bead blasted look.its just a bit out of my price range for a mechanical device.it is sharp though that's for sure!

The 510 connector is adjustable so you I put the atty where I like it, I prefer it off the deck, then set it accordingly.

looks like ill be going to napa to get the 7mm x .5mm tap,is it a specialty tap or readily available?since I have the s/o kit tore out of it and am waiting on rob to send a new one next week sometime.i have plenty of time to tap it out..lol.

I would be astonished if Napa had a 7mmx.50 tap. They might have a 7mmx1.00 tap but even that is an uncommon size. Amazon!

The only problem I have heard of with the Mephisto was the 510 center pin needs to be adjusted to make a connection. Haven't heard anything about any not threading on at all. First I've heard of that.
Yeah I'm deff not bashing the Mephisto i use to use it on my hybrid stingrays.. i loved it. Then i ordered a grand lp and was so antsy i converted it to b/f before it came.. it always threaded on any of mytube mods.. but the Reo came and it would only turn down one single thread. I checked to see if i mangled the threads and they were fine. So when i started searching and reading about mephistos online (esp. Clones) people said they had threading problems.. like i said hopefully this new ss 510 solves my problem!

Hopefully the new 510 can be taken apart so I/you can run a 7x50 tap all the way through after it has been pressed. The only down sides I see to the new connection:
Increased resistance (brass is a better conductor than stainless)
Wobbley attys if not threaded all the way down flush
Gasket/O-ring destruction due to sharp stainless threads that will be an issue with frequent adjustment
Stainless to stainless connections will gall over time, especially when electrolysis comes into play.

Still better than the current issues of buttery soft brass threads and fragile gasket/bushing.

That's odd... The Mephisto has some of the loosest threads of all of the attys I have dealt with. The Veritas is one of the tightest, one of the 15 steps that I go through with the Veritas is running the threads. Anything from Vicious Ant has very tight threads as well barring some of the early 2013 stuff.

The authentic Zeniths also had oversized threads that I had a hard time even getting the tapered die onto, way out of spec threads.

In most cases I would say no just trash the nylon seperator but in your case I would re-install it unles you want to send it in to fix it. Where did that magma come from? I will avoid that company in the future.

to embarrassed to say but the letters are a blue F and a blue T and shipping is normally not...more like never what the name specifies.ive got a brokendown truck at the moment so the fixing of attys is going to have to wait.im not gonna bail on the derringer either.i will honor my request for one.life is fun for the most part!just kinda stunk when I tried to start my truck and no go.fuelpumps on the blink.wish it was warm out,i could just ride the motorcycle and not worry about it but here in northwest ohio the bike thing wont work all of the time in winter.!

Okay you rogue fans, tell me what I'm missing... I just can't find a sweet spot on mine. for one, the sharp edges on the barrel are shredding the o rings. The AFC seems to do nothing. I can spin the top portion 360 degrees and the draw is always super airy. The vape is anemic at best. I've tried several coil configuration, my standard duels at 0.4 ohms, higher and lower resistances but nothing feels right. Raised coils, lower to the deck, nada. Tried standard drip tips, wide bore and a loki router. No matter what I feel like this thing is just drawing air from all over and diluting the vapor. Oh, and to top it all off the center post spins before I can fully tighten the leads. Did I get a lemon or is there something I'm missing?

That pretty much sums up my experience and I sold it!
