On another note, do I remember you saying the 18mm derringer would have to be taller? That may be a deal breaker for me. IMHO, keep the same height, keep the same top cap, afc/deck wall setup, but make the AFC cyclops style. Where you have slots that can be closed off as well as a slot for single coil setups. Keep the same height, and lower the air slots on their respective rings so one could have "under-coil air" intake. The issue with height is that for a true "perfect squonk" it seems to be better when you have s small deck (with a small diameter deck and short juice well) and short wick tails (coil fairly close to the deck). Just my $0.02.

The atty would only be 5mm taller at most, the height is for function not looks. I'm afraid I can't give that up. It comes back to dwell time and smooth transition.

I look forward to the Veritas and cyclone. I'm all caught up on send ins and don't have much planned for the immediate future except maybe the Omerta or Lancia.

Well that sure as heck is going to squonk and drain well. Couldn't make it better unless you concaved the deck.

Very weird design on those. I like the concept, but am not sure of how it would actually vape with the weird top airholes down side channels to side exhausts near the coils. Seems overly complicated with very precise (and small) area where you need to place your coils.

The Omerta will do side air or top air. The squonk holes are actually milled into the deck .2mm, and I faded them up towards the rim of the deck. Looks cool if nothing else...

When we talked about the lancia a couple months back there might have been some confusion..... With the ARRIS by "COUNCIL OF VAPOR " because it looks similar the......

LANCIA WHICH IS MADE by "ARRA MODS"..... I'm excited for a glass rda b/f..... I saw the RIP TRIPPERS video where he complained about leaking but that was the AUTHENTIC LANCIA so the clone (go figure) may have improved on the orings for a tighter fit....!

Hey Tom, how you liking that LMS 3990? I'm 'bout to pull the trigger on one, and it's between that and the Grizzly G0463. With the LMS being an X2, and the Grizzly being an X3, I'm just wondering if I'll find the limits of the smaller machine pretty quickly...

I'll probably just be millin' on small blocks of aluminum, so the LMS is probably plenty capable... I like the idea of brushless, out of the box though... And, of course, both are easily converted to cnc.....

If I had to do it all over I would have gotten the x1 from lmms. I have the high speed option on mine and I haven't heard it grunt yet. I do wish I could spin 10k however. I have all the bells and whistles on mine except the DRO. I need to find a wet system also. If I get one I could pay for the mill just in peko/GDeal screws. I really need to look into that.

For milling aluminum I would reccomend the 3990, I do have a grizzly base for mine that I had to drill mounting holes in. Plan on drilling holes in the floor to mount the base, it's very top heavy.

if I can find the space I would convert the 3990 to CNC and buy the X1 for atty work. I wish I had reverse also for threading. If you have plans for CNC I would suggest the 3990. CNC without brushless would suck I would think. Brushless has full torqe from about 300 rpm all the way to 5k. Being brushless with a very nice speed controller even if it does bog down the speed controller adjusts the timing and out put to hold the speed. I have the digital tach on mine and even when loaded up it will drop 10rpm and come right back to speed in less than a second.

I just looked at the Grizzly, I like the revere option but 1k/2k transmission? No way! I'm trying to find a way to get 10k no way I would be happy with 2k. Even my drill press wil do 2800.

5k to 20k range. Nice little unit. It'd be perfect for what you're doing. I just need something I can take a bigger bite with that'll accept larger tooling...

20k? Seriously? I looked at those and that fact didn't jump out at me when I was shopping. If I had gotten it I'm sure I would always be wishing for mor power however, never satisfied.... If you want sell it I might be interested.

Hakko soldering iron? Somebody use to be an RC geek, with an eye for quality.... I have one too....

Yep, 20,000 rpm max. She's actually pretty powerful for a small machine. My main complaint is the 1/8" max bit size.

Love the Hakko soldering station too. And yep, you guessed it, RC helis mainly. Used to fly a T-Rex 700. 3D and all that... 6 feet long with a 5 foot rotor span. Man those things are expensive to rebuild when you plow 'em into the dirt at 60 or 70 mph...

We still have a couple planes and a couple Slashes, for bashing around... Good times.
