For the record, I received my vertex in perfect condition. No issues with the top cap. Decided to go single parallel coil at 0.686 ohm. I'll build my standard duals shortly, but just wanted to test it. It's great work. Even at 0.68 ohms, I'm getting a better vape than I've been able to pull from my mephisto. Thanks for the great work Tom! Now I need to decide if the marquis or vertex will take its home on top of my tmod (hopefully be sent in the next few days)

That'll probably be an easier decision once I've built my proper dual setup.

The TMod needs the Marquis and vice versa. Putting the vertex on the TMod would be a waste of both. Explanation: the TMod has stupid low voltage drop and can push big watts with no worries. The Vertex works best at higher resistances (lower wattage). The Marquis on the other hand gobbles up power and spits out awesome deep clumpy flavor with that power. Marriage made in heaven, or my basement.... The Vertex would be great on a mini Reo for this same reason, those wimpy 18490s would actually stand a fighting chance with the Vertex. The Marquis would just laugh at 18490s.

Sounds good to me! Thanks for the input.

I have a brand new Marquis held back ready to go on my incoming Ti TMod... Yes I'm a believer...
I would love to do a run of Authentic Marquis!

If you could keep the price down I'd definitely be in for an authentic Marquis. I've been thinking about getting a TF an sending it in, but it's a pricey one, add to that shipping and modding and it's a little out of my budget.

I much prefer authentics to clones for a number of reasons ;) Clones have there place for some but I much prefer to support the originator of a design VS someone that has copied others ideas. Sounds like I may be in the market for an authentic Marquis in the not to distant future;) Tom, you up for a small authentic run?

Agreed... With the mark up I could probably do the Marquis for retail or at worst $5 over. The Derringer is/was a royal pain as well as time consuming and it was/is only $10 over which is a bargain for the ammount of work that goes in to them. Not as bad as the Hobo was but the final product is much more refined. And a 2.4mm SQUONK hole feeding into dual 1.7mm drains and flows for days.

I'm also just about to seal a HELLFIRE run of 16mm drippers and 20mm UFO drippers, just waiting on deposit info. Times are good for bottom feeders; expensive, but good.

Be advised I make almost the same money (within $3) on clones or authentic's in almost every case. The transition away from clones will cost me big money in the short run but in the long run it will mean we can get better stuff.

Let me step down from my soap box a minute and address that.
After taking all of the measurements I looked for an interim solution. The dental floss concept was bandied about last night so I figured I would start there. What I have come up,as a temporary fix is three wraps of waxed dental floss around the deck inside the oring area. 2 was good but three was better 4 seemed to be to much. Let's go with three wraps of waxed for the temporary win. Waxed floss makes it a lot easier to keep it in place, the I waxed type needs to be knotted and will leave a lump in the oring that will get pinched and cut the ring.

Let me look up the tracking info Cob... Brb, I will pm my findings.

Just throwing this out there...there is another option to the dental floss solution that works pretty good...buy a pair of small Nitrile gloves from Harbour Freight or where ever...grab a pair of scissors and from the fingers, cut thin little rubber bands...pull the o ring, lay 1 (or 2) in the groove (making sure not to put a twist into it) and put the o ring back on top of it...

Genius! And that's why you are a Rockstar! Thanks!

Wow, I was thinking about getting a Hellfire to send in too. Times are good indeed, but expensive.
