Guys and CH does anyone know how to get a hot vape with the vertex? My plume veil and odin are hotter than my vertex with the same build. 0.45 ohms on all three. Is that specific to the vertex?

Are you sure both coils are firing? I used the Odin for months and liked it. I found the Vertex to hot for my liking, the Plumeveil didn't last a day in my collection due to leaks and inconsistent output caused by the over elaborate Afc, however it was well received.

Oh wow, was still showing $5 this morning, though sold out.

I added to cart this morning, wouldn't let me complete saying shipping problem to UK although UK shipping was an option. I'm thinking maybe cause they were out of stock.

As Tom said before $5 cheap I expect to see that price doubled with new stock

That's a beautiful design! Where were all these awesome top fed atty's when I was rich? :)

Now if they could just come up with one that delivered flavor like the Marquis.
Not gonna happen.... The Marquis does what it does because of not in spite of its size. Vapor takes room to focus. I have given up and plan to use primarily Marquis in my personal collection. Hildecat has just tuned me on to his quintessential atty of choice. Hildecat has always been one of my hardest to please customers albeit very polite about it. When he comes to me with a "Your atty is good and all but it just doesn't compare to my favorite" I pay attention. I will be ordering a few of them and see what's up. Thanks Hildecat.

Yep both coils are firing. Actually plume veil is one of the best I have tried. It's weird how different people get different experiences. The AFC on the plumeveil is what gives it that smooth hot vape that I like.

I will try different coil positioning on the vertex and we will see if that changes things. The body is getting hotter than the other atties but not the vape. Does that tell you anything?

Makes perfect sense but I could have sworn he asked who would be interested in one who participated in the 1st Hellboy run.
I did. But the v2 showed up with a slightly larger deck and bore. Parts will not interchange. I hoped they would but no luck.

Yes it does... It tells me you need to elevate your coils so the air is hitting the bottom of them so the vape is heated not the top cap. Give it a shot.

Which RDA was this?

The Apollo by Leo. Looks like a mother to coil but I see the logic of it.

I have 2 on the way with a wholesale request. I specced mine with a 2mm squonk hole. We will see how it goes.

Had a chance to build the Manta. duel .6 build
I like it. great flavor, leak proof, squonks great!
Thanks again Tom!
I agree 100%! I've been vaping with this most all day and I'm enjoying very much. Going to take it to see Charlie Daniels and The Outlaws on Friday in Myrtle Beach! :D

Anyone want squonk flasks? I have 2 of them and will include my 9ml bottle set up with special ejection lanyard. $300 each with your choice of clone atty BF. These are the silver top version. Retail is $335 for just the flask. I have 2 more E8s coming and I have way too many mods.

Not a scratch or mark of any sort on either one...

It's not like your typical dripper, but if I can do it anyone can. I gave up on the veritas and marquis cause I couldn't coil them well, if that gives you any sense for how easy/difficult it is to coil.

Send me your veritas I will built it for you, I'm running mine as a gennie now.

The Apollo looks like a big Chalice with a dual coil option and baffle to keep it from draining completely. I have heard a lot of complaints about the chalice for over draining. You need a little left behind to wick during a vape. Just a wet deck, not a pool like most of the factory bottom feeders do.

Thanks, buts long gone.

With a good squonk I thinks there's just under a mil of liquid in the atty, enough for 6 to 8 full drags before re-squonking. And the air hole position makes it relatively clean in terms of leaking. A full cup will leak from the air holes if tilted though. That's the main reason I was stoked about the top air atties like the manta.

Mil as in millimeter or milliliter. 1ml of juice is a lot. I would prefer 1/3 of a ml. Perhaps we will modify for slightly better drainage, I know a guy that takes perfectly good attys and re crafts them.

Hey Tom, how do you set up your SS wicks? Do they touch the deck at all? Any chance we can see some pictures? I haven't built a gennie in years but this looks very intriguing

On the Marquis, just build it as you normally would with 2 vertical coils with the coiling tools. (Suggest 2.5mm) and make sure the coils line up with the coiling tool divots in the bottom of the atty. after making your 2.4-2.5mm wick drop it in.. Sink the wick all the way to the bottom of the divots. The divots act a as a sump to keep you wick wet.
