Paul, we love you for your enthusiasm & dedication. But just so you know...
...both the American Cancer Society & the Canadian Cancer Society
oppose e-cigs. They're
not on our side & they never have been. They're actively against us. So giving them money would be...odd, lol.
It's not surprising that they're anti-
vaping either. After all...the more smokers that make the switch to
vaping, the less people there will be with smoking-caused cancer.
These groups don't want a
cure for cancer any more than they want to reduce cancer
prevalence in the first place. That's their bread & butter. A cure would put them out of business; and the less smokers & more vapers there are...the less cancer patients there are...meaning the less relevant & profitable these groups are. Smoking is a huge, visible detriment that anyone can understand the harm of. Keeping it front and center as an
unsolved problem helps the Cancer Societies make money. The
last thing they want to see is a solution - with smokers everywhere making the switch to vaping
(which is clinically proven to be no more harmful than typical caffeine consumption) and finding it to be a wonderful, effective alternative.
Keeping people who smoke smoking...and working to prevent people's ability to vape instead...helps the Cancer Societies keep on raking in the dough. It sucks, and it's evil. But it's what it is. The fight for e-cigs will need to be won without the Cancer Societies on board. Fortunately, we know this can be done.
There are lots of good things we can all do to help all kinds of good causes, but donating to these particular groups isn't one of them.
Anyway, all the best hon & happy vaping!
