    excellent work zoidman

    Thanks Bad.

By making that thread Sticky it made it easy for me to find it and then do the Multiple Quotes.

I have been meaning to go back thru the two Big Threads and some of the threads in this sub-forum to pull out the Key Ideas and mod techniques. Thought that maybe I could make a PDF of them all.

Kinda a History Of and a Survival Guide to the CE2.

Just haven't been able to find the time with all the Bombs you have been dropping lately. Seems like ever time I get some time we go to DEF-CON 5.

Finally I feel like a can I recommend a CE2 to new vapers and not feel like they're going to hate vaping and go back to analogs.

Pull the fill ring up around the wick slots. Sometimes they get stamped in a bit too tight from the factory and it cuts off the juice flow a bit.

Using a paper clip with a small "L" bend at one end or a similarly shaped dental tool, insert the right angled leg in the cup beside the coil. Work the leg under the inner skirt of the fill ring inside the cup then slide it around to the point where the wick meets the skirt, push it towards the inside of the tube hard and gently pull up to bring it away from the wick. Repeat on both sides and you should be good to go. Do not go directly to the point where the wick meets the inner skirt of the ring. You run a high risk of accidentally grabbing the coil and then you're screwed.

Better you than me naviathan. I think the above and zoidman's post after naviathan's kinda make my earlier case for me. These may be great for experienced users but surely the vortex would be the way to go if you're trying to introduce newbies to vaping?

Where does the vortex fall down compared to these anyway?

Just got my package of the .8ml Fluxomizers. Holy Moses, the inner ring on these things (the one with the notches for the wicks) does NOT want to come out! I tried grabbing it with the hooked end of a paperclip and all it does is tear up the ring, but the ring doesn't budge. Any suggestions?

Edit: Well, now I'm down to 4 cartos. I figured the heck with this and figured I'd just pull the tube off and then pull the ring out at that point. Unfortunately, it pulled the whole cup assembly off with it and pulled the wire right out of the soldering that attaches it to the metal post. Damn!!

It might also help to run the Carto under some hot tap water.

The only problem with this tech is you will have to dry the carto out before you use it.

BTW - If you have a small Binder Clip laying around, the Metal Handle makes a great tool for pulling out CE2 Cup Seals.

I can't emphasize enough that you do NOT need to pull that inner fill ring off. I never do personally as do most users of these. It works splendidly just to fill with a bottle applicator kit or the supplied blunt tip and a syringe and you are in busienss.

If you want more wicking action the only other thing you might do is simply slide a small jewelers screw driver or some such beneath the fill ring where the wick enters the cup and lift just a mm or so to alleviate any factory stamping down on the wick that may occur (alot of times I don't even mess with this).

I just got mine in no wicking probs here, actually get more juice than I probably need. Didn't put flat ring back in after filling and I don't have a problem with the blunt needles filling and love the new tubes! Had to give it the "charmin" test. Just gotta squeeze it!
When I go to clean this one I may have to worry removing it then.

Okay, finally got the cup seal off on carto #2. I still had to remove the tube to get it out as I cannot get it out with a paperclip to save my life. Rather than go through that again I thought I'd flip the cup seal over and put it in that way. I saw it recommended somewhere and it seemed like a good idea, but it turns out that with the cup seal upside down there's not enough room to push a drip tip all the way in! I ended up just putting the seal back in rightside up. Hopefully it'll be lubed enough to come out without too much trouble. So, all in all, they turned out to be a bit more of a pain than I anticipated in this regard. But...

Holy cow do they work well once you've got the juice in there! Vapes like a dream (using 2.6-2.8Ohm on my E-Power) and no wicking problems yet. Great flavor and vapor production!

Also, I think my next purchase will be the 1.8ml size. The .8ml holds enough juice for me, but they're really compact and I think I might like having a little more space to work with when fiddling around in there.

That's what I said...yours is just a long winded version

Good to hear that you are in business. A well hitting CE2 is VERY hard to beat.

I think you will find that once the cup seal is removed for the first time that it comes out easier afterward.

    --------------

Danno - I think the reason that most people fill their CE2's by removing the seals is because the OEM Luer-Lok Blunt Syring ID that comes with the CE2's is way to small for many e-Liquids that contain VG.

So, how easily does the tube come off? Is it a similar procedure to the clear dual coil cartomizers? Just screw it on a spare battery and wiggle off? I'd like to do that to clean mine when it comes time.

Yep, mine actually came off much easier than on my Smoktech clear cartomizer. Do be very careful that you ease it off slowly. I was pulling too hard and when the tube popped off it took the white cup with it and the inertia caused me to pull the wiring right out of the solder.

Doh! I'll definitely keep that in mind, thanks. Glad it's removable though, it'll make cleaning and drying a whole lot easier.

If you want to pull the fill plugs on the CE2's to aid in filling/cleaning, it helps to have the right tool. Check your local Walgreens for the following:

Revlon Expert Nail Groomer | Walgreens

The smaller end has sort of a "spoon" shape, which lets you nudge the plugs out without damaging them too much. It's heavily built and will not bend. The larger end it great for seating the rings back in.
