What works best is a long pair of fine point tweezers, with the tip bent an additional 45* or so, so it almost forms a hook.

What I'm using is the 2nd from the left. I then took a pair pliers and bent the tip about halfway down. (These are from Harbor Freight, btw)

Here's another tip I discovered that seems to really help with my thicker stuff like Boba's. I had a theory that, in at least some (if not all) of the CE2's, the portion of the wick inside the coil would be more compressed and would thus have a harder time wicking, especially with thicker juice. And, if you think about it, it doesn't matter how well it wicks anywhere else, if it can't get juice fast enough to any portion of the wick under the coil, you're going to have issues. Anyway, I took a safety pin and poked it into the wick between the coils and very gently wiggled it around. I did this probably 10 times or so, a couple times in each gap between coils. I wouldn't call this "fluffing", but it did loosen it up just a little bit (enough to see, but barely). I didn't want to disturb it to much, but I figured if I could just loosen it a bit it may provide better wicking where it matters most. Hopefully that's clear, but let me know if it's not and I'll try to get a video of it.

This seems to have almost completely eliminated the off flavors I was getting with Boba's! It's hard to say, but it may have even improved vapor production a bit, not that it needed it. I still slow down a little bit and tilt every couple draws, but I think I found my sweet spot with these.

I'd be curious to hear if this works for anyone else, particularly if you're struggling with getting consistently good flavor from a thicker juice...

Wow...flashbacks to last year. This is actually what we were calling "fluffing the wick" last year with original CE2.

yeah ive been become spoiled too with the sizes, all in all the ce2 xl, sapphire, vortex seem to get me by for normal situations, but when im relaxing or watching a movie i fill up a vision deux and im set with no worries for a long time.
Now you can really go thru some juice. I've never seen anything that can put out that much vapor. But these run a close second.

Lol! And here I thought I was being all original!

I had always seen "fluffing the wick" referring to the part of the wick just outside the cup...

That is the new version. Since we got them to start loosening the coils fluffing inside the coils hasn't been necessary for a long time. Now if you use a thick liquid then it still applies.

I answer alot of emails. We are seeing alot of brand new vapers and we are also seeing alot of brand new FLüXomizer users.

I cannot emphasize enough, with my gut feelings reinforced by the emails I got in just one day, that you do NOT need to remove that inner fill ring. I recommend, if you have to do anything AT ALL, to simply lift the inner fill ring OFF the wick a tad to allow for more wick clearance as it enters the cup. You do not have to remove that inner fill ring unless you are so inclined and Chris's video shows how to do it very nicely, very graphically.

Yesterday alone I received three emails from individuals who experienced some spotty performance. They were new vapers and/or new to the FLüX experience. A couple of them drove themselves batty trying to remove the inner fill ring and their emails reflected that frustration. Two out of three also were trying to remove the fill ring as they thought this was how to fill the unit. I calmly and patiently told them what I mentioned above. Each of them returned saying it worked perfectly and they were happy. Here is one such response:

"Ok..Thanks, it worked fine, wish a simple document would have been included with the purchase so I didnt piss away one of my new carts. Vaping it as I write, its very nice, works well. Us "beginners" see your adds in the forum and on your site, and then buy from you, to get good repeat business fromus "beginners" you might want to post some better videos or at least include some simple instructions, and when I have to take this apart to clean it and change juices I guess Im going to be right back where I was before unless you take the time to make a "beginners" video to clean one and also PUT IT BACK TOGETHER without tearing it up. The vids you make are ok but waste a lot of time taking hits and flashing close ups of the thing rather than actually demonstrating how to use it..clean it, fill it, etc.

Thanks for the quick reply and help..."

As you can see he is a new vaper and the concerns for a beginning vaper were legit - when you get three similar emails in ONE day this is something I felt needed addressed. I just wanted to let everyone know there are alot of "new-ish" people reading these forums and as beginners they methodically follow some of what is written. Not to say its not a bad idea to remove the inner fill plug (I personally DON'T) but just always preface your posts, especially if you are more experienced and giving advice in response to someone, with a 'optional - not _absolutely_ needed' caveat.

The emailer mentioned about the vids needing to be thorough on how to break down and put back together...thats the only point I'd raise with him as Chris can't do a better job than he already does in doing just that. This post was only to point out, that when you intially use these, they are about as out-of-the-box as any I have ever used. Thats why, in the end, I constantly find myself reaching for them.

only after they have been used and even then you need to have something pressing down against the cup to hold it in place so you dont rip it out

Fluffing the wick inside the coil can be destructive to that portion of it. The ones I've done that to usually end up with little to no wick left under the coil after a couple of cleanings.

K nuff said. Hey Nav... Eliquid cn site still wonkey... where else can I get BULK juice??
