CE2 XL problem

I've just purchased some CE2 XL clearomizers, each one that I screw onto my battery causes my battery (Ego batteries) to flash 3 times and not fire. I've tried them on 3 different batteries. Sometimes they work if I hold the button on the battery while screwing in the clearomizers. Does anyone have any possible solution? Surely I can't have gotten 5 bad ones.

try prying the connection in the carto out a bit using a paperclip or something simlilar. it probably isn't getting a good conection

Well that seemed to fix the problem, but now it's started doing it again even after I've pried the contacts out more. Any other suggestions?
