I've found that it's unneccessary to remove the tube from the carto completely, but rather, cut slits in the tube above the connector and below the cup with a Dremel cut-of wheel. This enables the juice to get into the wick and adds stability/rigidity. I've also determined this is less likely to damage the atty from the cup sliding down the air tube. It does make it necessary to cut the syringe (or other tank apparatus) to the exact length needed to use the drip tip, tho.

Thanks for the how-to! I may try this for my next tank mod to see if it's more user-maintainable than the clear bottle mods I have.

Congratulations on making a "Gummy Tank"

A Cave In Stirling, Scotland.
I have after 2 days of use made a minor alteration to the mod.
Where the narrow mouthpiece tube meets the atomizer cup was too open and allowing too much liquid to wick into the cup flooding the atomizer.
I have pushed the small mouthpiece tube 2-3mm further through its' rubber seal so it now extends to cover down to the base of the atomizer cup.
Still wicks well but causes less flooding on the atomizer.

I altered the build instructions to reflect this.:vapor:

I only use 1 rubber plunger from the syringe. no leaks. not much flooding either. So, the box mod, and the ce2 is all modded by me... "JennTek" see you in DC at VaperCon in October 2011!

I have to agree with sassyone on this one. Bigger is not always better!! But if you think you must have a mega mega tank, Tractor Supply sells 20ml syringes in a 4 pack. I made a couple of them using the 20ml syringes and regular CE2 cartomizers. They will hold around 5 to 6ml of juice, but my boss thought I was vaping black tar ...... because the juice got really dark before I used it all up.

The one nice thing about the 20ml syringes tho is the hole left in the back side of the rubber plunger when you remove it from the stem is the perfect size for the cartomizer. All I had to do is stick a carto tube in it and tap it with a hammer a few times to completely cut the hole. A tight fit tha will not leak.

I am using the 25mm bottles from madvapes and they hold 10ml of juice when done. I like the bottles for the simple fact you can drill a 1/2" hole in the bottom and it holds the washer in place so I do not have to use any glue or silicon on the bottom and they do not come out or leak since the bottom has a lip and holds everything firm in place.

Here is a video I did on a step by step using the 25mm bottles from MadVapes....
