I bought one of these to replace my old dual coil tank system as the paint was badly flaking off it. Firstly what resistance should I have picked for a bog standard 1100mAh ego battery? I had the choice of 1.8, 2.4,3.2? I went for 1.8

I had a fake one of these of eBay and it worked so well I decided to buy the official one but I am not overly happy with it. Firstly I am getting plenty of vapour but throat hit is minimal, I use decadant vapours liquid, secondly I have noticed the centre part flooding leading to a glugging sound, I have noticed when inhaling the liquid getting sucked up the way which then must go down the centre tube leading to the flooding, and last but not least I have found myself when trying to unscrew it from the battery opening the entire thing and losing the eliquid. Grrrr.

Anyone else have these issues? I have to say the fake one worked much better but its cartomiser is non replaceable.

Sometimes the coil is loose from the air tube. I've had some shipped this way, and since I always clean new devices before use have found it. Sometimes, too, simply taking out the tip to fill / refill can loosen it. If it's loose it will leak.

1.8 should work well on a fixed voltage battery. For VV, I generally go to 2.4 so as to have more range for adjusting.

The base to tube issue can be sidestepped by only grabbing the base to un-mount from the battery. You do have to be a bit careful, but the same problem can happen with a BCC as well.

I've had all those problems and they just persist, but here are some workarounds that I've come up with in no specific order.

Throat hit minimal: Your resistance is probably higher than the 1,8 due to some poor electrical connection - test with DMM if you can.
If higher resistance is found I do these steps...
1: Empty and clean under hot tap water.
2: Dismantle and unscrew the coil head. Take the silicone top off and look down the tube. Scout for the ends of the coil. They will come off the wick on opposite sides. Turn it upside down and hold it in one hand. With the other you grab the rubber grommet and turn it 1/4 turn in the direction that will TIGHTEN the heating coil around the wick. This is critical or you will be in dry hit country for sure. Turn it around again and check that the coil looks tighter or at least not like it is loosened. You will need good light for this.

Sometimes I get dry hits from a unit and i do the same steps. If that is not enough i take a tweezer and pull a little on the heating coil end that you can normally see sticking out 1/2 a mm from the metal center post. Normally pull like 2 or 3 mm. Then cut off excess so I dont get a short and I´m normally good to go.

Gurgling: I think this is inevitable to happen sometimes with the design. But it is definately worse if: Your tip is not sealing against the centre post or tank walls. Your heating coil head is now tightened all the way down. (BTW: If you can not get it to fire after a rebuild, try taking off the heating coil head and turn it around. With you can gently wiggle a nail under the centre metal thingy and lift it free of the rubber grommet by 1/2mm or so. Put it back in and tighen it all the way down and you should be good again)

Opening the damn thing in the wrong place: It is inevitably going to happen with the design as long as they have a right hand thread between the base and the glass. BUT you can do this to avoid it happening: Keep your threads on the battery and under the clearo super clean. I use alcohol on a piece of toilet paper if they get gunked in e-liquid and or dust.
Tighten the base/tank connection well (Obvious I know - no offence meant)
Do not tighten the whole tank/battery conection too much (Obvious I know - no offence meant)

And when it happens anyway? (It does to me atleast)
Tighten the base/tank connection again (Assuming you have not got e-juice all over you yet but have noticed that the #§!* little ¤#!'s thing is coming apart in the wrong place)
Now press sideways on your clearo and then try loosening again. Does not work? Try pushing sideways from another angle and try loosening again. I've had to press really firmly to get this working after playing with my son in his sand box and getting the #§!* sand ¤#! everywhere! But I got it off without a spill.

I hope this helps and if something is hard to understand then please ask again. Engrinsh is nøt my native tongue :)
