I've recently found a flavor, Powder Sugar, that is pretty good but haven't found it anywhere else. I think it could be improved. It not only tastes good but if added to harsh or too tarty flavors it tones it down so I would like to find another vendor that can do it better. Are you up to the challenge?

Of course! Yay! Flavor challenges have become one of my favorite things to do!

Describe it for me as well as you can both the original flavor and any improvements you want in the taste. The better you can tell me what it's like, the better I can recreate it, so tell me anything that comes to mind and I'll do my best!

The Powdered Sugar flavor is there but it is weak and not as sweet as you would expect a flavor with the the word "sugar" in it. It is very mellow which is good. Because it is so mellow I thought about adding it to harsher flavors and it toned them down nicely plus added a little sweetness to the flavor I added it to. Some fruit flavors come across a little to tart for me so adding Powdered Sugar took some of the tartness out. It kind works like EM does. It also works good for harsh tobacco flavors. I would like to taste more of the Powdered Sugar and a little sweeter. Hope that helps.

Got it. I've added it to my list for next flavor test day and I'll see what I can come up with!

A flavor challenge.... I would love to find something that tastes like a really good RY4. I'm not sure if you can make that flavor without the tobacco, but it would be awesome if you could and make it organic. I know the RY4 is very popular, and lots of places do good ones - but not 100% VG based (I'm allergic to PG). I'd buy a VG Organic RY4 by the gallon :)

I'm currently experimenting with organic tobacco flavors and trying to get my mix right without using PG (which is much more difficult, but a must for me!). I've seen a number of RY4 versions out there, so tell me more what kind of taste you're looking for and I'll see what I can do!

Hi Annette,

I haven't had a good hit of RY4 for a long while, cause they all made me sick with the PG. But I remember the caramel, not too sweet, a slightly nutty flavor that's very smooth - like a hazelnut maybe, a hint of vanilla or maybe a buttercream - again not too sweet. Almost a "toasty" taste - maybe that's the tobacco?

The classic was Janty RY4, which had that kind of toasty feel and nothing was too sweet, just a hint of sweetness. You want it to be something you can vape all day without going into sugar shock - lol.

A lot of places are doing their versions of RY4 - some sweeter than others. There's a thread here somewhere with a good writeup of some of the top 10 favorite RY4 versions.

- Edit - I found the thread. Like billhrebst, I prefer the smoother, deeper flavored RY4 mix. Here's his thread

I would very much like to see an RY4 blend from you. The trick to RY4s is to get it clean. Sometimes you can put together three good flavors, and get perfume. Above all, it has to be a clean flavor.

I like the caramel to taste creamy, luscious. The vanilla has to be there, but can be in the background. The main thing the tobacco has to do is blend with the others. If there is not enough tobacco, it becomes a dessert vape. A nutty flavor is sometimes added, often with great results.

Basically what I like in an RY4 is a sweetened tobacco.
