Thanks for this opportunity, vapesrus and Central Vapors.
I have been off analogs for about 1 year and 8 months.
Switching to Vaping has had many positive effects. Before vaping, I had developed a consistent hack, so I decided to try a gasoline station cig-alike, to see if an e-cig could be even remotely satisfying. It was, but I couldn't quit smoking with that. I was only smoking half a pack/day, and I
was able to cut that down by about half, but the big thing was that the hack went away in two days, so I knew e-cigs were for me.
I went up the e-cig ladder rather quickly, trying to find something I liked better each time. I wanted a tank to hold the juice, so I bought an eGo-T Kit, which was much better than the cig-alikes, but I still couldn't quit with that. I bought a Mod and a Vivi Nova, but still couldn't quit smoking. Ultimately, it was the combination of an 18650 VV Mod, a Glass Carto Tank, and DIY Cinnamon Red Hots in 100% VG that enabled me to stop smoking. I learned (in retrospect) that the plastic in those eGo-T Tanks and the Vivi Nova made the juice taste nasty to me. I only use Glass now; not only for the Cinnamon Red Hots, but also because I don't like the taste of a plastic tank for
any juice.
I was spending about $1,200/year on cigarettes. At first, there was an outlay of money finding a good e-cig setup, but now, with my Sigelei ZMax, AGA-T2 Tanks, and DIY Liquids, I'm spending a fraction of that. I don't have exact numbers for this. Another benefit to DIY is that I control the mg of Nic. I first started DIY by mixing 36mg VG Nic and USP VG at 50/50 to make 18mg Unflavored 100% VG. I have since found the TPA/TFA Cinnamon Red Hots flavoring in Ethyl Alcohol that I love (I cannot use PG) and I have cut that 18mg/ml down in steps over time, and am now vaping 6.5mg, because the DIY milliliters of 36mg Nic and USP work out more evenly with 6.5mg/ml.
Thanks again for the contest!
