Used cig-a-likes off and on for 7 years. Last March I looked into vaping gear a bit deeper and by April I had some tanks and batteries. Started cutting down on the smokes right away. Went from PAD to half, then slowly reduced some more. Was at 3 smokes a day for awhile, then 2 and finally 1 for a few days. Last one was on 21 Aug this year. There are still 2 packs from the last carton I bought in April sitting in the fridge as a reminder.
My sense of smell has returned, coughing has stopped I don't hack up stuff every morning.
vaping has also brought me ECF where I have a bunch of fun!

A: Off of analogues for about a month now, and I'm doing pretty well. B: I thought I was going to have a really hard time staying away from the stinky cigarettes but it's not so bad with vaping. My clothes don't stink like smoke anymore, and instead of my house smelling like it, it smells like the flavor of the day, which is usually very pleasant. Also, my tongue isn't brown from tar stains and in a month or two I may actually save some money. Vaping may have also saved my life - big plus. And, I can breathe!

Got my vaping gear on August 15 2015. Right away my 1/2 PAD lessened but did not completely stop. Been almost 2 weeks without an analog...feel a lot better, can breathe easier and don't worry about smelling really bad.

Thanks for this contest

I picked up an Ego kit on my daughter's birthday in March of this year, but--using smoker's logic--I didn't go smoke-free until I had finished the entire carton of cigs that I had left. Smoked my last cig on April 6 and have remained so ever since.

While I'm enjoying being able to breathe more easily, smell things, etc., I think the benefit really hit home with me when I tucked in my son one night and he delightedly exclaimed, "Your breath smells like chocolate chip cookies!" Makes me hang my head in shame for how I must have smelled for the prior 6 years of his life....

I started vaping about six years ago, using cig-a-likes. Didn't get my first half way decent kit until last December. It had not very good ego knockoffs and disposable clearos, but that lead me down the path to quitting smoking. I upgraded to spinners and protanks, then to rebuildables, VV/VW devices, and mechs.

My health is much better now, and I don't have to go outdoors every hour for a cigarette when we are with the grandchildren. I also hated having them see me smoke. They know I vape, and that it is to help me stay away from those nasty cigarettes, and they are very happy about it.

First cig free day was 12/23/2013

The main benefit is now, I can become a burden to my kids and Grandkids instead of leaving them my stuff if I died early due to smoking Cigs.
Not sure the kids like that but the Grandkids love that I will be around longer to teach them how to get stuff pass my kids, their parents and tales of the old days when we had personal freedoms and cheap candy, movies and long lasting things.

smiles.

Thanks for this opportunity, vapesrus and Central Vapors.

I have been off analogs for about 1 year and 8 months.

Switching to Vaping has had many positive effects. Before vaping, I had developed a consistent hack, so I decided to try a gasoline station cig-alike, to see if an e-cig could be even remotely satisfying. It was, but I couldn't quit smoking with that. I was only smoking half a pack/day, and I was able to cut that down by about half, but the big thing was that the hack went away in two days, so I knew e-cigs were for me.

I went up the e-cig ladder rather quickly, trying to find something I liked better each time. I wanted a tank to hold the juice, so I bought an eGo-T Kit, which was much better than the cig-alikes, but I still couldn't quit with that. I bought a Mod and a Vivi Nova, but still couldn't quit smoking. Ultimately, it was the combination of an 18650 VV Mod, a Glass Carto Tank, and DIY Cinnamon Red Hots in 100% VG that enabled me to stop smoking. I learned (in retrospect) that the plastic in those eGo-T Tanks and the Vivi Nova made the juice taste nasty to me. I only use Glass now; not only for the Cinnamon Red Hots, but also because I don't like the taste of a plastic tank for any juice.

I was spending about $1,200/year on cigarettes. At first, there was an outlay of money finding a good e-cig setup, but now, with my Sigelei ZMax, AGA-T2 Tanks, and DIY Liquids, I'm spending a fraction of that. I don't have exact numbers for this. Another benefit to DIY is that I control the mg of Nic. I first started DIY by mixing 36mg VG Nic and USP VG at 50/50 to make 18mg Unflavored 100% VG. I have since found the TPA/TFA Cinnamon Red Hots flavoring in Ethyl Alcohol that I love (I cannot use PG) and I have cut that 18mg/ml down in steps over time, and am now vaping 6.5mg, because the DIY milliliters of 36mg Nic and USP work out more evenly with 6.5mg/ml.

Thanks again for the contest! :)

A. My wife and I started vaping on Christmas day 2013, we weren't even going to try and quit just cut down. One day at the end of February I got up and got my morning coffee and didn't bother getting an analog. I vaped instead. It just seemed so natural, I haven't had one since and my wife did the same thing exactly 2 weeks later. Neither one of us have regretted it in fact we love it.
B. Since we have quit we have started eating better and are going to the gym. I've lost over 50 lbs and my wife has lost about 28 or 30 lbs. Life is just so much better we love it.
