I am curious about the type of ceramic used in the cups of these atomizers. Does anyone know what material it is? I ask because I'd like to try one, and I can't afford a GG. That means a china clone, and I'm just not 100% about faith in Chinese standards. I've moved to steel hardware and cotton wicks in an effort to contain my exposure to crappy or dangerous materials as much as possible. I know i sound like a paranoid weirdo, lol. Anyhow, I'm just curious if anybody has any information about this material. Thanks!

I'd be interested in this one also. But to see if there are interchangeable/replacement parts for these clones. I've just ordered an Ithaka clone yesterday. If it lasts a few months, I'll be happy. But if I can change out the cup, that's even better.

I had the same idea- if it's spec, swap the cup for a GG.

Well, just guessing but since they are called ceramic, I can only assume its a silicate material similar to porcelain. It is strong but porous. Now if there is a difference between the ceramic used in the GG or others, its hard to say. Imeo has buys them from some supplier and we dont know if they are made in greece or are made in china or elsewhere.

I didnt notice any difference in strength or taste from the ones from GG or the ones for the Terminators or other clones. They all should be washed, boiled and torched before use to get rid of any chemical residues or taste.

Similar material is used in many vaping atomizers such as the Ce types, Killers, Divers. In fact the original GG atomizer , the IAtty used a simple Ce2 cup that is still used in all of the above atties because of its strength, porosity and ability to withstand high temps.

The ceramics on my nautilus/terminators can be torched to orange hot. I think the low temps of vaping should have little to no effect on them.
But now I'm curious... What are you concerned about in particular? What type of ceramic do you think they should be constructed of? Why do you think they are not of this composition now?

Thanks

I don't really have any predetermined prejudice against the material's composition, I just don't have much trust for Chinese quality control. Just because the ceramic may be safe doesnt mean that there isn't something along the production line that isn't. I am aware of the ability to torch the cups, but being as porous as they are, I'm not sure you could ever truly be sure they wouldn't leech. playing devils advocate, it's possible that super heating the cup could make it less safe by burning leftover chemicals trapped within the micro pores of the ceramic. Anyway, i have and use a couple bastos drippers with ceramic cups. they are my tasters when im too lazy to rewick an rda. I am simply curious as to what type of ceramic is being used so I can do more research.
