Hi All,

Yesterday, I got confirmation that I am now 100% hooked on the e-cigarettes. I still had some analog smokes I been keeping for any emergency, So...

I thought I'd fire one up, since I was alone and I could "get away" with it. Besides, I hadn't had one for 22 days, thought I'd get some kind of measure as to the e-cig success. WELL....

First drag made me almost puke! It kinda tasted like I imagine licking my jeeps tires would taste. So, being the idiot that I am, I tried a second hit. Well, lets just say, I don't remember every pulverizing a full cigarette before, but that one went straight under the boot. In addition, went back inside and threw the rest of the pack in the trash.

So, like it or not, I think e-smoking is here to stay. And honestly, that is a GREAT thing. :)

P.S. If anyone actually LIKES licking car tires, if you let me know fast enough, I can send you 3/4 pack of cigarettes ;)

Congrats!!! That is great that you think they tasted like licking jeeps tires/horrible. I'm afraid to even try a real cig because I quit before using a different method and I seriously thought that first cig after a month and a half was great. So yeah I'm afraid it will be the same now and it was difficult enough to stop smoking real cigs and only vape the e-cig. I'm not going to test fate.

I know how you feel Texas.
I have been off analogue cigs for about a month, and on e-cigs for about two.
I have tried a puff from a tobacco-cig a couple of times, just to see how it felt/tasted. the answer: Horrible! I don't ever want to go back to tobacco. If nicotine-cartridges end up being illegal here, i'll start vaping flavors only (and wear a nic-patch to compensate!).

i never really tried the cold turkey method.. i still have tobacco around and have the odd real cig.. i get no wow factor from a real cig but then again i dont get a puke factor.. in short i can now take them or leave them..

a situation i am quite happy to be in to be honest.. i find it hard to "hate" something i have been addicted to for forty years.. my mind cant make the flip..

if my nicotine laced e cig supply ever dried up i could and would go back to real cigs..

I had the exact same experience when I went to a 3 day music festival, and didn't want to put my ecig through the trauma. The first 'real' cig that I had was absolutely horrible, so much though I thought there was something wrong with it - but my brother assured me it tasted like a normal cig. The 2nd cig was almost as bad, by the time I smoked my third (a few hours later) I was back into the swing of normal cigarettes for the rest of the weekend.

Interesting thing is that I've packed in smokes before and started again without thinking they are really nasty, but after smoking the ecig for only 2 weeks my first cig was horrible! Since then I've had no desire to smoke a real cig again, and don't intend to! I'll be takin an e-cig to the next festival I go to with plenty of spares (and a power monkey charge unit so I can charge my batteries via usb!)

I fell off the wagon after a year on it.

I'd been drinking...alot. Way too much, in fact. A side note here: I think I'll stick to mixing my own drinks now. My brother was mixing them that night, and as he makes them quite strong, before I fully realized it I was way more soused than I really wanted to be.

So there I was, on my back porch, the world spinning around me. I was trying my best to ride it out without puking, but as time went on, that seemed like less and less of a possibility. My brother helpfully suggested that I have an analog cigarette to take the edge off a bit. Back when all I smoked was analog cigs, that had indeed worked, so I thought, "Ok, I'll just have one cigarette to help me through this."

The effect of the real cigarette was instant and powerful. The world stopped spinning, and I got the familiar tingly buzz that I've never been able to get from e-smoking. After a year off the things, I'd forgotten just how powerful it was. But, the taste...holy crap, the taste was bad. It wasn't so bad during the first drag, but then it just stayed there, hanging around on my tongue like a thick coating of nasty. It was so bad that it overcame the calming effect of the nicotine and almost immediately made me puke.

So, now I luckily associate real cigarettes with puking. :) That and smelling of cigarette smoke for the entirety of the next day.

I really wish I hadn't gotten myself into a situation where I'd be tempted to smoke a real cig in the first place, but I'm glad the experience was as unpleasant as it was. I know that since I got used to smoking real cigs before, I could get used to smoking real cigs again, and for that reason I'm still going to keep as much distance from them as I can; I;m by no means "cured." But I can honestly say that prefer e-smoking now, even with all of its shortcomings.
