What would happen If I connected a 510 pass though to a 510 charger?
I have a powered hub that runs the pass through but not well. I was wondering If I could charge its battery every now and then with the regular charger. Yes I would disconnect the usb end of the pass through.

Any one who has had these apart know how they are wired?
Thanks

You are referring to the PT that has an inline battery?

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but from an electrical point of view, I don't think it would work. It MIGHT work if you held the button on the PT down (or taped it), but even so, I probably wouldn't do that.

From what I understand, the PT has an overcharge protection circuit in it and by trying to charge it from the opposite end that it was desgined to be charged, at minimum it wouldn't work, and at worse it may damage the PT or cause the battery to explode.

Why don't you get a 110v to USB adapter (just about any store that sells electronics) and plug the PT into that?

The strange thing is I have one and the pass though works on it like on does on the hub. Not very well.
The hub's transformer is rated .8 Amps. That should be way more current then the battery puts out. (the 110 to usb is not rated)

Did you (or do you) leave the PT plugged in for several hours before using to allow the inline battery to charge? If the inline battery isn't charged, it won't work very well.

I don't know exact specs, but I would suspect that the PT battery has more mAh than the standard 510 battery, so I would think it would work at least as well as a 510 battery. At least, mine does. I don't know the exact capacities for a fact, but all I can say is that my PT works pretty well for me. Once charged, you can actually unplug the PT from the USB port and use it to vape for quite some time. You'll be tethered to a cord of course, but I do it all the time and it works great.

On the other hand, maybe I am just lucky. There are threads here where some people hate their cheapo PT with the inline battery and others that love it. I'm in the latter group.
