charger confusion

Hi can someone please explain what this means........ Thanks in advance......
eGo usb charger:
Input: DC 5V 500mA
Output: DC 4.2V 420mA

the output is probably a standard usb charging circuit if it's rated at 4.2V (especially since most LI-rechargeable batteries take their charge at 4.2V).

while more details are needed, the input being 5V Dc makes me think it's a usb connection. probably requires an adapter to fit on a NEMA 5-15 line.

Universal Serial Bus charger that requires 5 volts dc & 500 milli amps from the power source to deliver 4.2 volts dc @ 420 milli amps to the battery.

Usually used in vaping to charge ego type batteries.

it's a charger designed to plug into your computer's usb port and charge the ecig battery.

my guess is there's also an adapter sold with it that lets you plug it into a wall socket for faster charging.

One more thing the Output: DC 4.2V 420mA means you should not charge a battery smaller than 420mA. It's ok to use for a larger lithium battery but it will take longer to charge. I also would not risk connecting it to an expensive computer. If something goes wrong with your battery the computer can be fried. a usb wall wart is a lot cheaper.
