There are certainly better chargers than any trustfire brand, even back then the t-001 was bottom of the barrel.
Have a look at the offerings from Nitcore, Xtar, Efest luc.

nitecore or xtar would be best and highest recommended
Efest makes a decent charger (Efest Luc v6) which is far superior to their batteries lol.
I would personally recommend an Xtar VP4...charges your 18650s from user selectable .25a to 1a (depending on which banks you use) and also charges 26650s (and 18350s/490s/500s as well)

That's what i was thinking when i was looking at the chargers... "They make chargers? But their batteries are crap"

I had picked up a d2 on a clearance sale from Provape (yes, seriously) <$15. When I started using 3 battery sets I went with a d4 for the 4 cell setup. The little d2 is still a nice small travel charger to throw in my bag as I generally never travel with a 3 battery setup so it's sufficient for my needs.
i have 4 nitecore chargers. right now with my newest stash of 10 25r's coming in today i am actually using 3 of them!! Woot woot. i2, i4(2), d4
Never pitted them against eachother but right now chariging all 10 at once using a D4 I4 and I2 going to see which one gets done first

Yea, my suspicion was confirmed. The 2 won with more amps per cell during charging, but didnt charge twice as fast as i originally suspected.
I have a xtar and a luc v4. I use both, but the xtar is beginning to show it's age by not wanting to charge multiple batteries above .25 amp. I'll replace it with another luc.

My current favorites are the Xtar VC 4s , I also use an efest luc v4 and it's really growing on me , I believe both can be had for around 20$
