I currently have a 510 nictsick. I was told that charging the lithium batter for more than the recommended amount of time (4 hours tops) can kill the battery life. Is this true? I leave my nicstick hooked up to the charger all night, every night. Says it can charge up to 300 times, so this seemed like a logical question to ask :p . Thanks all!

Well, yes, overcharging a lithium battery is detrimental. To the battery and possibly to any bystanders. But.....most chargers automatically stop charging when they sense the battery is full. If your charger has a light that is red while charging, then turns to green to indicate the battery is fully charged, probably no harm done.

If your battery feels warm to the touch after all night on the charger, it is over charging.

Not only is over charging a Lithium battery bad for the battery, it can be a fire/explosion hazard.

Really? I did not know this  I have yet to upgrade from my nicstick and my charger doesn't have a light on it to indicate when it's done charging. I haven't NOTICED it getting warm, But I haven't really checked either. I'll check next time it's on the charger, though. I've been taking it off the charger more often after I was told that this can happen, but I didn't know if it was from a reliable source or not. Hopefully my battery hasn't been harmed yet
