"...510 USB charger?"
I have seen the adapters to allow the ego to use a 510 Wall charger. I don't have a 510 wall charger anymore-girlfriend has it.

Is an adapter needed to use the 510 USB charger too? You know, the one that looks like an eGo USB charger but with lower output.

I have had a 900mah ego batt on the 510 USB with the wall wart USB thingamagig--all night 12 hours-and no green light yet.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding this whole electricity/battery thingy? ;)

Thank you muchly!

I am very worried now. My eGo and Riva batteries will not hold a charge longer than 10 minutes after all night on the 510 USB charger.

I hope I haven't somehow destroyed ALL my batts! (all are Less than 30 days old)

I await a new eGo USB charger and will post my results after I give it a chance.

I suspect your batteries are just fine. Probably a bad charger or bad USB hub or port. Does the 510 charger show the batts as charged after over night?

No, I suspect a bad charger and after 10 hours on the USB 510 for the Riva 650mah w/o a green light , I lost patience. It has all become mute as I got 2 working ego usb chargers and they successfully charged all my ego/riva batts.
Thanks!

I have a Tornado (eGo 650mah) from Totally Wicked which came with a 510 wall charger rated at 150mah. I need the adapter so it fits the recessed threads in the charger. It takes 3 1/2 hours and the charge lasts all day. You should be able to use the 510 USB charger without an adapter because the threads are accessible. No damage will occur with using a lower amperage charger on the eGo. Your batteries are not holding a charge because maybe your not making a good connection with your battery and the charger or the charger is n/g. If you have a volt meter, check the output of the charger. Make sure the contacts are clean on both bat and charger using alcohol and a q-tip. Make sure your charger is unplugged first.

I was told you can charge an eGo with your 510 usb charger but it will take longer to charge than your eGo usb charger. AND you should not use you eGo charger to charge the 51o as it will destroy your 510 battery!

That's true. But... my 150ma 510 charger takes only 3 1/2 hours on the eGo bat and the eGo USB 450ma takes several hours. Theoretically this should not be. Definitely don't charge more than 150ma on your 510 batteries.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Does anyone know how easy it is to disassemble and repair an ego usb charger? I can use a multimeter and solder. :)

BTW: I ordered 2 USB chargers for the ego, from 2 different vendors and got another dead one--aaahhhhggggg!

The reason is, the Ego charger outputs 420ma since the ego battery holds a larger charge, and the 510 charger only outputs 200ma, the 510 battery can handle the 200ma just fine, but for some reason the 420ma is just too much juice for the 510 to handle. On the other hand, if your charger is working properly, a 200ma charger should work on a ego batt, just takes longer to give a full charge, in theory. I have not tried it myself, and after reading this thread, I guess you have to be sure you have a functional charger as well ;) I'm glad your ego batteries are ok!
