Hello again guys. As usual the quick disclaimer that I was sent this tank for the purposes of testing and review by Voopoo but this will in no way effect my assessment of same. This is a pre-release review and the tank is expected on the shelves at around the 15/16th of April 2019. It will cost around 37 €. The price may vary slightly depending on where you shop :)

The MAAT sub-ohm tank by Voopoo comes in a box with an embossed design of the tank on the front and the contents on the rear.

The kit includes...
  1. MAAT Tank (4ml)
  2. Glass tube (2ml)
  3. MT-M1 (0.13 ohm)
  4. MT-M2 (0.2 ohm)
  5. Sealing O-rings (6)
  6. User manual.

The MAAT Tank consists of a top cap, glass section, airflow ring adjuster and 510 connecter. It has several new innovations which are the method of filling and the method of coil replacement. It also uses a new styles of coils and the ones tested here are the twin mesh (which is pre-loaded) and the tri mesh which come as a spare.

Filling on the tank is very easy and the top fill design is the same as we've seen before from Voopoo, a nice large kidney shaped slot allows juice to be inserted with ease. The innovation here is the release mechanism for the cap. A little button on the side of the tank which sits very slightly proud of the rest of the ring, is pressed and the fill cap pops open automatically. This is a big thumbs up  as opening the tank can be accomplished with one hand and certainly makes filling easier in certain situation.

As always I recommend that you fill and let the tank sit for at least 15-20 minutes and then starting on a low watt setting to prepare the coil for its true wattage.

The coil change mechanism is another new innovation although we have seen this before with other manufacturers. The 510 connector is turned a quarter turn to remove it and the coil can then be pulled straight out. This is very convenient for a quick change and with the tank held upside down can be accomplished with a full tank of juice.

You can see the tank here on my Drag 2.

The airflow has 3 inlets and an adjustable airflow ring which can be closed fully or opened to suit your particular vaping style. I must point out however here that this tank is a cloud chasing tank and the airflow operates as a very airy direct lung down to a slightly restricted direct lung. If you don't like clouds and an airy vape, don't get this tank :)

The tank is constructed from stainless steel and the machining is very good. The bubble and spare straight tank are made of glass so no worries about certain flavours causing a problem. It will come in three colours to start with...

Black, Stainless Steel and Rainbow.

Conclusions.

This is a nice sub-ohm tank with some useful new features. I have tested both coils and they both produce good flavour and lots of vapour...you could easily disappear in a cloud of vapour in a small space :) Big pro.

The dual mesh coil is the one to choose if you like you vape really open and airy and the tri coil, whilst almost as good is slightly more restricted.

Would I recommend it??

Well yes I think so. It is slightly different than some others with its airflow mechanism and the innovative fill system and coil replacement method sets it apart somewhat from the competition. The coil change system is a big pro and the filling system is a pro also.

I have had limited time to test this tank but I did find one con, in that liquid can escape out of the air holes slightly when laid on its side and I did feel a slight gurgle when the tank had been left standing for a while. However this was not a flooding incident and was easily cleared on the first vape afterwards.

Overall, a very good tank with good flavour and ease of use.

I wanted to get this review out in time for pre-release and I will be back next week with a review of the new Drag Platinum and also the new Alpha Mod kit. As always thank you to @Thea from Voopoo for providing the MAAT tank for review and of course you guys for taking the time to read. As usual my aim here is to both introduce and inform you of new products whilst giving you an honest opinion in the hope that it will advise your purchase.

Thank again and I will see you again next week
