Okay. So, thanks you guys, I've learned the difference between Spinners and Twists. Yes, I'm that much of a noob. On my next off day I plan on buying my first VV battery, but I'd like some more info or advise.

1. Variable Volts vs Watts: What's the difference between variable voltage and variable wattage? Can you have one without the other? What are the benefits to each? Variable volts seems to be leading the way in terms of popularity. I can't find much on variable wattage.

2. Brands: Apart from Joye and Vision what other reliable brands can you recommend. My local shop has varaible voltage Kanger EVOD's in stock would this be a good choice?

3. Online shopping: So far all of the shops I've been to have limited variety. What online vendors would you recommend for both juice and gear in general?

Thanks for your time,

The Chawg

when thinking about vv and vw thing about driving a car and having to drive up hill, vv is manually pushing the pedal and going up hill you have to press harder and harder, but vw is cruise control and going up hill it keeps the same speed, as the battery dies vv the voltage will drop on you but vw power wont. From what you stated in 2 all those brands are fine to go with, kgo also has a vv/vw battery that you can check out, I used it until i dropped it to many times, go to myvaporstore.com, hoosierecig.com, madvapes.com, just keep checking around until you find something you are comfortable with

Thanks, Riley. VW definitely sounds like the better option. If that's the route I take can I expect faster battery drainage?

This description is actually incorrect. It's like an automatic trans vs. a manual tans. VV you have to manualy change the settings to match what you put on top of it. VW changes to match what you put on top of it.
Most people like it around 8 watts, so with VV a 1.5 ohm atty on it you would set it at 3.5v. Go to a 2 ohm atty and you change it to 4v. A VW device set at 8 watts automatically adjusts for the resistance you put on it and it adjusts the voltage accordingly.
That's the simplified explanation, both do the same thing, just use a different means to get there.

Interesting. What about battery life? Is there a noticeable difference between the two in terms of time between charges?

It depends on the device, how large the battery is and how high the voltage or wattage is set. All things being equal, you wont notice any difference between the two.

Any of the Zmax, or Vmax models, in that price look at stainless steel for durability, the Evic, the MVP, SID, and the VTR all fit into that price.

RTD carries the Zmax and the SID, also the best place to get batteries and chargers, Randy is GREAT people! Mods at RTD Vapor
This is the MVP, look around though, they can be found for $40! Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0
This is the VTR, again, shop around and be warned, it's HEAVY!! Innokin iTaste VTR
And the Evic, Joyetech eVic Starter Kit | Joye e-Vic Ecig APV
All of these will need batteries and a separate charger, other than the MVP. Look them over, check out some of the reviews, see what you like and don't, then come back and ask some questions about them.

Awesome. I wasn't aware of any kind of posting privileges. I just researched the v and z max as well as the sid. I am sold on the vtr though. Great reviews and aesthetically pleasing plus I like that its heavy (12 oz). I also took a look at the 134 and a few others out of my price range. lol The only negative comments i found on the vtr had nothing to do with performance and seemed to be individual experiences. Fingers crossed, I'm sending my money to Innokin.
