Thought I'd introduce myself on this board as it was instrumental in me finding a local supplier.
I have been smoking analogs for 30 years (bad habit I picked up while in the USMC).
I can't stand smoking, don't smoke in my own cars and never in the house. Add to that the way my State (NY) and when I'm home in NYC punishes smokers with taxes. Well I had to do something.
Was driving up to the Reservation but that was getting old, besides cheaper smokes means you smoke more.
While having read and seen the commercials on E-cigs my first exposure was a few weeks ago when I picked up a starter kit
at Jan's Smoke shop called E Cig XOX. I was very disappointed with the unit and worse yet they have no working contact information so I could find out where to get refills.
Long story short I did some searching on E-Cigs and found this board. Which helped me get up to speed on the different types and terminologies. Particularly I found this thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...club/165738-local-suppliers-rochester-ny.html that led me to Three Days Smoke Shop which isn't far from me.
Stopped in and almost every customer was in there for E-Cigs. The guy behind the counter, Tyler, was very knowledgeable, Vap's himself. I wanted a Joye 510 kit but he said they were sold out fast. Seems they don't last long.
Was going with a Smooth kit (808 style) but Tyler steered me from it. His reasoning being that for a pack a day smoker like myself it wouldn't suffice. Instead I got a Smoov REV 650mah matched up with a Smoov XL Clearos Cartomizer and Volt Menthol Burst e-liquid.
This setup is more complicated than the pen style I had before and I'll have to do some more reading.
However it's more closer to real smoking than my previous setup. Okay this is been too long an introduction already. I look forward to hanging out here and picking up some info on my new venture.
