You ever figure out the problem?

No, I still get it the same issue, even got a new tank but it seems inconsistent.

If you have a tank, it has a coil and a wick...so more or less it's a carto...even atomizers get funkied up and need to be cleaned out

Triple tap...puff, puff, draw

Oh I see, yes I've been doing that too and it seems to help with the chemical taste. And I've used a new atomizer and new heads and still getting the same flavor. Although it's not there all the time, it seems like the wicks aren't absorbing the juice sometimes.

There is a bit of a learning curve, but I've found learning to rebuild the head of the protank improved the flavor greatly for me.

I have a couple knock-off protank copies that were unusable. I watched a couple youtube vids on rewicking, ordered some kanthal and silica wick and rebuilt the head and it's a world of difference.

I understand it's not something that everybody wants to do and this is the new users forum, but I've had great success and just thought I'd share. My first couple attempts were terrible and frustrating, but after getting the hang of it I've been more than happy with the results.

Perhaps it's due to the silica wick in the atomizer? Just got the plasticky hit again...with the tobacco flavor, it's really inconsistent sometimes I'll be getting good tasting hits, then it's some plasticky flavor, I can't imagine this being better for my health than analogs..

Really? Analogs have over 100 known carcinogens, cause 30% of all cancers, and is one of the deadliest, least healthy substances on Earth. Comparatively, you'll live forever with vaping....comparatively. Or, were you joking?

Chemical taste can be from needing more steeping, OR, chemically/perfumy taste can be from too much flavoring in the juice, and it won't go away except via dilution, and that can be hard to do, as you dilute the nic too. If you've changed toppers, it's likely the juice. If you change toppers and it improves, it's likely the topper. Backups for backups allow us to not only explore options, but to do a process of elimination on problems, which, most assuredly, we all encounter, from time to time, one way or another. Suggest you keep trying different combinations of gear and juice until you get something that improves, and, ultimately, works for you. Good luck!
