Okay, time to take it into stages. Already talked to a health professional, we narrow it down to one of the 4 ingredients and a step down of sort on others.

1) vape on a unflavored nic liquid of your normal ratio, stated 30pg/70vg start there at your nic level, still having problems, go to step 2
2) vape on an unflavored 100% VG liquid of your nic level, still having problem, go to step 3
3) Vape on an unflavored at a higher PG ratio, 70pg/30vg or thinner, if throat hit is to harsh, lower your watts down, still having problems
4) Vape on an unflavored, no nic liquid

Reactions are caused by one of those 4 base variables from the most common to the least common, flavorings (which are generally in PG), the PG itself, then the VG itself, then last the nic itself, once the culprit is eliminated you can most likely add flavoring again. Right now I am leaning toward the Menthol flavoring is tearing you up, that or if it from a new vendor of liquid if you do not DIY or a new flavoring vendor if you do DIY it the vendor's bases and flavorings giving you issues. Just my 2 cents and good luck.
I'm gonna try just max VG pure VG 3mg mix

EDIT***
People don't like to read lol, I've been to the doctor who diagnosed indigestion, but it only occurs the moment I start Vaping if I don't vape I don't get the problem.

After reading this thread, I must wonder how many more times you'll have to make this point. LOL.

2) max VG 0mg seems to make it worse.

3) no heart problems

4) no caffeine intake (aside from one ejuice)

5) on a diet with exercise so it's not from unhealthy eating.

I've experienced chest pains in recent years, but my list doesn't match yours. Been to cardiologist and all 4 tests run on me came back with "normal healthy heart" which as I understand includes all veins/arteries leading in and out of heart.

My issue doesn't get noticeably worse when I start vaping, but I do think it possible vaping adds to whatever it is I'm experiencing.

I currently do not trust my primary to address the issue in a reasonable way, but have only seen this person once, and have been lazy about finding another, which I intend to do within weeks, not months.

I'm mostly at a loss with how to effectively address my own chest issues, and have learned to just accept them. Having cardiologist tell me my heart is fine really alleviated stress/worry I was experiencing there for a short period, about a year ago.

I do think it is possibly tied to PG/VG ratio, but is self diagnosis I have about 5% confidence in. From what I recall the problem did seem to occur before I even got into vaping. Wish I could be of more help, but I would suggest going with more PG, less VG and seeing if that helps.

Worst case scenario / suggestion, based on what you said (if I don't vape I don't get the problem) is to not vape. But if your heart is deemed 'healthy' after tests, then a) possibly get a second opinion from other type of doctor(s) - such as lung person or b) accept the issue as is, continue vaping, and realize it might be taken care of / sufficiently addressed down the road. Not a great suggestion, but I had issue in early 90's that was pretty much "new" to doctors then, and has been sufficiently addressed by doctors in last 5 years.

I've been a long term Vaper on and off since 2012. I picked up heavily at the begging of 2015 to kick smoking. Months later, about 2 weeks ago I had a bad ear infection leading to a sore throat now to "indigestion" if I sleep and wake up I feel great but when I take my first vape of the day my chest goes into an instant tightness I generally vape 30/70 or max VG lately I've been having a menthol flavor and that's when the problem
Arourse, I tried switching flavors but the other was just some bland peach ...., lol. I was wondering if this is common and what is the fix!

First of all,
I am not a doctor but most of your symptoms i remembered what i went through. Same as you.

My mom told me what it was even after i went to the doctor.

1st advice go ask your doctor. Not the cheap "here take this" doctor. Go to a good doctor who could understand when you say "it doesnt hurt outside but it hurts inside but in a way if feels like its outside".

I always had problems with indegestions and acid reflux. What you are having now is acid reflux. Your asofegus (cant spell) is as sensitive as mine. When you sleep at night i am pretty sure you like to sleep on your right or somewhat around the right of your body. If not, acid reflux might also be caused by your training to lose weight? Sometimes on an empty stomach when you do trainings, cardio whatsoever trainings the gastric juice jumps up and down and touches your asofegus (cant spell). So its irritated causing the tight, mild discomforting filling along the centre almost top side of your chest.

It will most likely start to feel tight, and discomfort when you burp, swallow food, drink warm water, and sometimes from hiccups. Basically anything that touched ur asofegus (cant spell). So the vapor from vapes does make ur asofegus rile up.

How i solved this issue? Dont vape menthol, it makes it feel much more uneasy. There is a medication to lower down your tummy's gastric juice, i forgot what was it, ask ur doctor. Gaviscon helps. Take that, rest from vapes for some time... Cure your acid reflux, take meds. When its ok, try vaping again.

I took Gaviscon fluids, its a white colored liquid med that is minty and very thick. Tastes minty horrible. But it soothes the asofegus (cant spell). After a few days i feel fine. When i vape i am vape happy again.

My mom is not a doctor either. But at times i think she is the best doctor ever.

I've been wrong many times tho :pervy:

Many folks get a heavy / tight chest or worse feeling from high VG liquids.
For me, a few vapes of high VG gives me a heavy tight chest, a few more vapes makes it feel as if an elephant is sitting on my chest, a few more and I can hardly draw a breath.
I also get a queezy stomach feeling & something stuck deep in the throat / acid reflux feeling from high VG liquids.

After I figured out the cause I don't vape any liquid in any amount over 60% Vg, I do have one flavor I enjoy that is 60VG, I limit that to 2 ml's per day.

I have all of those feeling too! Something about VG thickness that gives mild dicomforts. But i dont give a damn lol. I DIY my juices 98%VG and 2% everything else lol

Same almost exactly for me, except with even less VG -- I have to stick to at least 85% PG, or suffer everything you mentioned; even at 80% PG, I get the thick throat-mucus, and have to clear my throat before speaking, every time I open my mouth.

AMEN! You said a mouthful there. Of course... few will bother reading it... it's just too HAAAAAAAAAAARD... ;)

I haven't read all replies. It's possible that some members have given you similar suggestions. Intuitively, if max VG makes things worse, some of your symptoms maybe adverse reactions to VG since you usually use a 30/70 mix. Try to max PG alone 0mg and see if you react better. Indigestion may result from too much nicotine in your system. Now, ear infection and sore throat may be due to a real sickness which should go away after appropriate treatments (see a doc for that). As far as the chess tightness, I can speak from my experience. If you think that symptom is mediated by vaping, then solving your reaction problem to the juice mix should be a good fix. However, as I was starting vaping without smoking, I also exercised (cardio: running and swimming (still do)) and experienced tightness in my chest and some kind of shortness of breath like something was stocked in my airway. After a week, with consistent and progressive increase of daily cardio intensity, I started producing (still do) more phlegm and feeling less tightness in my chess with deeper breath. I still feel a burning sensation in my airway with my first morning puffs. So, re-adjustment of your airways/lungs from smoking cessation and exercising may also explain the tightness in your chest. I hope that you'll feel better.

I've already been to the doctor, he didn't even know what Vaping is.

Lol... I don't ever bother telling the docs that I am vaping. I've seen a doc for xray results few days ago. He said that my lungs are clear, my heart is normal and even asked me what kind of sport I was practicing... With a resting heart rate at 52bpm, of course he wondered. I should say that I was almost falling asleep when the nurse showed up for the measurements. I've been pushing the cardio workout quite a lot (but safely) since I switched to vaping (running and swimming). Swimming seems to work best to clear my lungs.

Based on your statement, I would recommend the opposite.... I might be wrong but if 100% VG makes you feel worse than 30%PG/70%VG, then VG is likely the issue. Unless it's an issue with some of the flavors as other members suggested.

VG made me feel like I was dying dehydration wise, and no nic so my chest wasn't terrible.
