So I was just playing around with my friends Chi You clone, and he was complaining about the button. So i took a look at it and used it a few times to see what he was talking about. The button is extremely short, and isn't too crisp. Does anyone know any videos or information about how to fix this issue?

I initially suggested him first switching to magnet switches, but thinking about it further I think something else would have to be done to extend the button. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated!

Why would I want to extend the switch throw?!?

I had to do that to mine so that it wouldn't fire in my pocket. The locking ring would move a little as I walked and with such a short throw on it it would fire with the locking ring only loosened maybe 1/4 turn.

What I did with mine was wrap a piece of electrical tape around the bottom of the battery slightly overhanging it. I then folded the overhang down onto the bottom of the battery, clipping the bunched up parts off with some nail clippers. You will understand that last bit a little better if you try it. This sat the battery up a little in the tube and my button now only fires when it is almost pressed all the way in. It also solved the problem of the insulation wearing off the bottom of my battery's that led to my kayfun firing for almost 45 mins. It now has cotton melted into the insulator.

I also think an o-ring on the top of the switch might do the same thing, but I had the tape handy and it has worked well. I am not sure if there is a good way to glue a o-ring to SS or brass tho.

My friend was complaining that the throw was shorter and crunchy so its not as smooth and the button is so small its actually annoying. I thought possibly they had a built in adjustable button like a sentinel, but it seems that a Chi You does not. I mean I know the idea of 'you get what you pay for' in the clone department, but unfortunately for him, he actually got jipped.
He thought he had an authentic (paid over 100 for it). The local shop he goes to sold him the clone at such a high price made me want to throw up, after i inspected the mod I told him it was likely a clone because of the quality of the button I wouldnt expect a real Chi You to have those problems, and the more obvious fact his serial number was 8888.

I received my magnet upgrade from fatdaddyvapes.com today! I ordered it as the Chi You ultimate upgrade, so I also received the longer contacts.

It does not extend the button push, however, it is sooooo much smoother. It's also a much more positive button push. You can feel the button being depressed as the magnets push each other away, providing a constant pressure on the switch.

The package came with 2 magnets, a thicker top pin, extra long center pin, and a thicker bottom pin

I ended using the 2 magnets, and the thick bottom pin. The thick top pin and extra long center pin wasn't needed and in fact would have prevented a flush fit for the Omega clone RDA + the Efest button top 18650's that I use. If you use flat tops, you would need those pieces.

The pieces to the left include the original spring and parts I didn't use from the upgrade kit.

Also note, the button pressure is enough that even though my Chi You is unlocked, setting it down on the table was not enough to depress the fire button. That is just the pressure of the magnets against the switch. This works even if my RDA is fully installed. (That means I can take a quick vape while camping in a corner in Counter Strike: Global Offensive without having to risk choosing being fragged or burning the house down!! Yay!!)

Pic of the connections.

I love my Chi You clone, but the cheap feel of the original button always annoys me. Now, it really feels like a quality device.

Hope that helps you.

There was a video (can't remember where I saw it....youtube ?) but a guy put an extra spring in.

I pulled my spring apart a little (very little), it helped a little but I was afraid of getting to aggressive with it. I can set mine down on the table without it firing......but I don't do it.

Edit.......Just found this..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0ItYfuKlG4

another one...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rQmS_Ysy44

Anyone know how changing the spring out with a copper one would effect how it performs ?
